Don't change the setting on the plug. The 400's are happiest when you just plug in new ones and ride. They like NGKs the best. There are two types for the 400. One runs hotter. This choice will depend on which country you live in and what the ambient temperatures are.

call honda dealer an he will tell ya over the phone. where ya get the plugs? if parts plce ask em. if wires are bad replace em.

Less compression has nothing to do with the spark plug unless it is not tight on...As a rule the gap should be enough for a saw blade.Hope this gives you an idea...
