Question about Hyosung Motorcycles
My hyosung GT205R 2006 model wont accelerate it starts up fine and revs fine. just when i accelerate its gets up to about 40-60k/hr then looses power in acceleration and wont go any faster only gets slower. any ideas on whats wrong with it?
It seems there is fuel starvation when you reach that speed or the spark plug seems to fail.
(1) Check the spark plug and also see if it's of a correct specs per the manufacturer's recommendation.
(2) There could be a blockage in the carb's main jet which restricts the flow of fuel at that speed.
Hope this helps!

It does sound like an ignition timing problem, but could also be a breathing issue, air flow in or exhaust flow out could be restricted i.e.:dirty air filter, excessive carbon build up in exhaust pipe from burning too much oil or rich fuel mixture.
possibly and more likely some junk got into your fuel system and partially plugged up the main jet in the carb, -or has the needle on the slide been moved? The little circlip at the top of the needle, if it has one.
1.Replace the spark plug, check gap, check spark, it should be bright blue and fat.
2. check the fuel filter, if no filter check the carb for dirt.

Sounds like pre-ignition, AKA engine knock and detonation.
Install new NGK spark plugs one heat range colder than stock. >>Only use premium gas.<< Run through a tank of premium gas. Change gearbox oil and filter. (clean oil cools better than dirty oil).
The problem will likely disappear.

SOURCE: accelerator stuck open
This has happened to me before, and i know just what the problem is. Under the fuel tank, the throttle cable goes into a plastic cable housing, and sometimes the cable guard gets stuck out of the housing, causing the throttle to be constantly open. Just take off the tank, follow your throttle cable to find where it's stuck and release it.
