I would recommend against this for two reasons. First reason is that you will lose horse power, by losing back pressure.
If you do remove the baffles, then the carb must be retuned, because you damage the engine, by it running to lean or too rich.
There is ususally a screw that holds the baffle in under the rear exit of the exhaust pipe.

Hi, my intruder 1400 (1998) is difficult firing up when cold - I live in the sub tropics. When she does fire, popping noises are emmitted from the forward carb. After warmed she runs great. Appreciate your time.
