Were is the oil drain plug on a 2008 bigdog mutt 117C.U.

warm the oil up.....take a little ride.
find the oil drain at the bottom rear of the oil tank. drain oil. replace filter.
the HD style V-twin is a dry sump engine. there shouldn't be much oil in the crankcase. DO NOT remove the plug in the bottom of the crankcase!!!!! if you strip it, you will have to replace the crankcases......if it falls out, you will loose all your oil while riding.
fill the oil tank with the oil of your choice. any 20w-50 if acceptable. do not top it off! the oiling system requires an air gap at the top of the oil tank. typically 3 quarts of oil.

My stihl ms390 not oiling chan

You probably need to replace the oil filter. It is located in the oil tank. Using a small piece of wire with a hook on one end, stick the hook end into the oil tank and capture the oil tube. gently remove the tube enough to access the filter. Remove old one and replace with a new one. These are available at any lawnmower or small engine repair shop. Sometimes you can get one at one of the big box stores like Lowes or H.D. Good luck

Oil tank

It so seems that there is no circulation of the oil through the oil tank, try to remove the out let oil pipe from the tank and start the engine, but make sure your hand is at the kill switch to cut it out once u see the flow of oil.
The other problem could be with the Oil tank itself, maybe a manufacturing fault.

2005 fat boy oil change

Stand the bike upright. Remove the dipstick from the oil tank. Remove the drain plug on the bottom right side of the frame. While the oil is draining, replace the oring on the drain plug. Remove and replace the oil filter, after filling the new filter half full of oil. Replace the drain plug. Put 3 quarts of oil in the oil tank. Replace the dipstick. Start the bike and check for leaks. No leaks, you're done! I use HD Syn 3 synthetic oil in my '04 Fatboy, but you can also use a conventional 20w50, as long as it's made for use in and air cooled motorcycle. Don't use car oil!

Car has been sitting in garage for past 10 years, on blocks. what do you recommend before trying to start? it needs new battery.

you need drain fuel tank.fuel tank probably need to be removed and cleaned out to remove all sediment in bottom of fuel tank.remove each sparks and label them.squirt some clean engine oil down the spark holes into cylinder bores to help lubricate cylinder walls and help seal the piston rings to build up compression.replace fuel filter.best to change spark plugs and wires.check all brake hoses they more likely old cracked. i would change brake fluid bleed out all the old brake fluid out of the brake system.also change power steering fluid and change transmission fluid and filter also change engine oil and oil filter.replace the antifreeze and all the coolant hoses and radiator hose.replace thermostat and radiator pressure cap.replace battery and add new full tank of gas.you should be ready go. check ignition timing also.

Im replacing my oil tank on my 1972 harley. do i have to remove the inner primary or can i remove rear wheel and fender to remove and replace?

Neither. You oil tank will come out without removing any of the stuff you mentioned. You must take the rubber vibration mounts off and if you work the tank just right, it'll come out. The manual on the old Shovelheads state that you must remove the tank every other oil change to wash it out due to the clutch debris that gets into the tank. I stock configuration, the oil that oils the primary chain is pumped back into the engine and then into the tank. If you just cannot get it out, take the inner primary off. That's a lot of work though. But, if you got to, you got to.

Good Luck

How to change oil pan gasket . 2003 wide glide

The oil pan is on the bottom of the transmission on your Dyna Wide Glide. To change the gasket start by draining the engine oil and transmission lubricant by removing both plugs on the bottom. Once drained, disconnect the hoses going to the oil pan. Remove oil fill cap, remove two screws and remove the oil spout, pull up on the dip stick cover to remove it. Now, remove the allen head bolts and remove the oil pan. Replace gasket and all bolts. Torque all bolts to 7-9 foot pounds. Refill with oil. Transmission take 20-24 ounces of transmission lube and the oil tank takes 2 quarts 14 ounces of oil if you did not replace the oil filter. Since the oil filter is still full of oil, if you put the full three quarts of oil in the tank, the oil cap will blow off when the oil gets hot as it's overfilled. Good luck
