You should maintain your bike by servicing it every 10 to 15 days. But time and use will eventually affect the outward appearance of the bike as well as the wear points on the engine, chassis and drive train.

yes but I would also suspect the carbs we not cleaned fully. main jets and emulsion tubes as well as the idle air circuit... these all are important for proper operation. you will need to pull the idle mixture screws out as well.... if they are plugged from the factory you need to drill into them and use an easy out to remove them

what does the rebuild manual say about ajustment or troublshootn--clymer books are best--usually at engine area a fillups driver moves the screw in/out on clutch housing--simple details unless clutch is bad

My motorcycle wont stay idle

What year, and was it first sold in CA? Many Asian bikes w/ carbs had restrictors on the fuel adjustments. Locks down so lean for emissions that they wouldn't even idle. Look for rejetting kits on the internet if so. Easy to tap out restrictor and rejet. Did that on a 2010 Suzuki and it ran great.

1999 ZRX,,,cleaned carbs, started it, revd to 6000 rpm and adjusted idle, then would not idle, I think i messed up the idle adjustment cable, is that possible???? any ideas where to start.....

When you cleaned the carbs was the idle too high or too low before the adjustment? I suppose a better place to start is when you cleaned the carbs, did you clean the fuel lines and flush the tank? If the carbs were fouled, you can be pretty sure the line and tank have crud in them as well. It could very well be that some of that crud made its way back into your carbs.

GAS MILLAGE

wrong size jest eg main jet shoukld be .1xx, but the shop fitted the largest optional one, as that is what they had. A change from a .112 to a .108 makes a huge change. Don't know if the CB650 carbs had a needle that could have its position changed? Soft tires, dragging brake, even VERY slightly, bad wheel bearings, clogged air filter (wash and oil, or a new one)
