Starter replacement How do you replace the starter in a 2003 Buell Firebolt XB9R when I know that's the problem?

It involves taking off the primary cover(the cover behind the shifter). You need to download the factory service manual - do a google search for it. It tells you how to do so. You could also reference a 2004 harley sportster too.

Your battery does not have enough voltage in it to turn over the bike. buy a new battery.

You may need to adjust the lash on your vales or replace your hydraulic lifters

Stand the bike upright (use a swingarm stand or lean against a wall), then poor one quart of oil (I recommend Harley Formula+) into either of the windows on the primary cover. The oil should be just covering the bottom of the gear visible in the larger window.

The speed sensor is located behind the front pulley cover, on top of the transmission.

There is no mention of sizing in the Workshop manual. Just part numbers for replacement forks.

before you go and change the starter,you should check your battery voltage because thet is what sounds like your problem is.Your battery is not sending enough voltage to your starter soilnoid to engage the starter
