Hi, Brenda for this situation I would call my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix, answers, or parts inquiry. If necessary, transport your bike to the dealer or shop and have a professional technician take it for a test drive, if it is in running condition, and give you a written estimate of repairs and answer any specific questions you may have about your problem. For more information about your issue and free downloads that you will need please visit the websites below. Good luck and have a nice day.

SOURCE: gear shift adjustment with boots on, trouble shifting gears

The dealership should be able to help you there. Often the shift pedal from an earlier model will work well. The factory changes things in a effort to improve the product but some changes are not as good as intended.

hello. it seems that the clutch is starting to wear significantly. the best you can do is make sure that there is freeplay left in the clutch lever. but if no more can be had then it is obvious that the clutch plates need to be inspected, for they are most likely worn and/or damaged beyond service limit. this will show more likely in the higher gears.

Had a diagnosis done on my mitsubishi outlander.suction control valve changed..but still coming up with same fault.do i need to change the sensor.

If you had work done and it still is not fixed, you need to go back to the place that did the work and complain. A car this new should be under some kind of warranty.

I have to believe that you are right on with the shift linkage on this. I would make sure that a small part is not missing causing it to not set in position just right.

Stiff gear changing

I presume this is a 5 speed manual transmission? Is it actually the gear lever that is stiff to work through the gear changes?
first thing to do is drain and refill the gearbox with new oil.
while you are under there, check that the linkages are not rusted or crudded up. If so, free them up and lubricate them well.

This is a park/neutral safety switch and I would suggest checking the linkage going to the transmission first while you have someone go through all the gear selections. If it will go into every gear range but park you may need to adjust it (very simple) if it is hard to change through the gears you may have a mechanical problem in the transmission and would need to get it checked out. Looking at your transmission you'll see a wiring harness, this harness will go from your switch and then send a signal to your vehicle's computer to allow it to start if it's requirements are met

My 2008 chevrolet impala gear shift is stuck in park. After working and wiggling it a lil, it shifts into gear. This started last night. When leaving work it was fine. After i picked my son up from...

This is a common issue on '06+ Impalas, and is most frequent when parking on an incline. It can be minimized by engaging the parking brake before putting the car in Park.

Your brake light switch system controls the shift interlock system, you'll need to check that system first.
Could be a shift interlock swith has gone faulty or the linkage is out of adjustment.

Check that link out, could be a solenoid issue or it could be that a wiring harness is going bad/fried:

I just changed my chain on kawasaki gpx 250 to take front engine cover off you need to take off a little rod that goes to my gear changer. now that i have put it all together again i can only get neutral...

have you put the gear linkage back together properly. firstly is the linkage the right way up and the rod allso twists in and out to adjust lever position and may be wound to far out.it should turn by hand once the locking nuts are loose ,adjust bit by bit and that should sort it.

2002 toyota camry doesnt lock in parking

Have someone operate the gear shift while you watch the mechanism on the transmission so that you know what parts you are looking for. Shift into the park position, then uncouple the linkage and move the lever on the transmission fully into the park position. Then adjust the length of the linkage while holding the driver's lever in the park position so that the linkage connector goes back together without pulling on anything.
