SOURCE: got yzf426 and want run after being out on just

most common problem with new generation four stroke motor....is the valve clearance you may check it at first cause many time the intake valve are two tight and kept open (making motor disfonctional)..we used to have a trick to make that old génération carb work better....twist the throtle 3-4 time before kickstart it..( this will work like a primer and bring gaz in the intake and make that rig started easier)

on the carb, it should have a Phillip head screw and a grinded edge as it can be adjusted through hand.

SOURCE: doesn't seem to be any power in my yzf426

piston may rings may be on way out. if you have a manual decomp lever make sure it hasnt tightend by itself. losen it off a bit and try again, after a few kicks with decomp in (no throttle). this happend to mine after being sat in cold weather for a week in the garage. other than that clean carb and jets, air filter ect and vavle clearance especially if you know its had more than 9 hours seat time without checking shims and seat+clearance.. check you have right jetting. also check your hot start nob for worn spring make sure its seating properly or it will be letting in to much air. good luck there a brilliant bike when running right.

SOURCE: watt would be the exact

There is no EXACT answer to this question ... If you don't have a owners manual and you don't have access to a Yamaha dealer, place your bike upright (90 degrees to the ground) and fill it until you have the oil in an acceptable range on the dip stick. The level must be at least the bottom mark and must not exceed the top mark. The best place to get motorcycle advice is at your authorized dealer. The best advice I can give you today is go and make friends with the guy or girl that sells parts at this dealership.

2000 yzf426 no spark

Hi, Anonymous and the usual suspects are:
1. Fouled spark plugs.
2. Severely discharged or a damaged battery, should have 12.5 volts or better and be able to pass a load test if necessary.
3. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
4. Loose connection at ignition coil or plug between ignition sensor and module.
5. Spark plug cables in bad condition, shorting / leaking, spark plug cable connections loose.
6. Faulty ignition coil or electronic control module or CDI box.
7. Faulty CKP, CMP, or BAS sensor.
8. Faulty ignition switch.
9. Tilt sensor needs a reset.
10. Security alarm failing to disarm needs reset

What engine oil will i use as . As i have just bought a yzf426 2002 with no manual

In the UK climate, I would use a 5W 40W semi synthetic. That will cover you if there was synthetic oil or Rock oil in the engine and allow you to upgrade to fully synthetic in the future, if you want to.
