Carburetor removal for 2000 Road Glide

Hi Anonymous, it's pretty straight forward, you might have raise or remove fuel tank to gain access. Start by turning off fuel valve, remove fuel line, air cleaner and backing plate, throttle cables, and choke cable, then just wiggle it out of the intake manifold. Good luck

I disconnected the fuel line, turned ignition on, can hear the pump, but no fuel delivery

Which end of the fuel line did you disconnect?
I know on the 2008s, the quick disconnect at the tank has a valve (like an air hose connection) that shuts off the flow when it's disconnected.

My 2007 FLHX seems to be missing & fluxuates at idol. Any ideas?

Sounds like an intake vacuum leak. A vacuum leak will cause the idle to go up and down. If the bike is carburated, no problem. If it's fuel injected, I have no idea as to how much trouble it is to repair it as I do not work on fuel injected engines.
