SOURCE: stator removal honda

There is a tool that is used, it looks like a steering wheel puller or flywheel puller. Loosen the nut, a strap tool is handing to hold the stator still while you loosen the nut. Then using the removal tool, you pull this off. reassemble by tighting the nut. You should be able to get a puller at autozone in the loan a tool program. I hope this helps

How do i change a blown head gasket on a suzuki intruder 800

You should get a service manuel. But the procedure is fairly simple. The engine may have to be removed from the frame or not. disconnect battery. Remove tank, remove stator cover and spark plug. locate top center of piston, make note of this. Remove rocker cover, remove rocker arms, valve train, remove cylinder head, head gasket is there. determine the reason head gasket failed, clean all parts, reinstall in the reverse order, be very careful to get valve time correct or serious engine damage will occur. Seek professional help.

Need to know how to change 85 lowrider alternator. Fxr. And help would begreat

  1. Replacing the Alternator
    • 1 Remove the drain plug located under the clutch area of the primary chaincase and drain the chaincase lubricant into a catch pan. Remove all mounting bolts from the primary cover and slide the cover from its locating studs. Loosen the primary chain tensioner and inspect it for wear (this is a logical time to replace the tensioner shoe, since you are in the case).
    • 2 Lock the primary chain where it enters the bottom of the clutch drum. Remove the engine sprocket nut and slide the compensator/sprocket assembly from the engine sprocket shaft. Slide the reluctor bowl off the engine sprocket shaft. Push the stator plug through the hole into the inner primary case. Remove the stator mounting bolts and slide the stator from its support boss. Remove the stator from the case.
    • 3 Slide the new stator onto the support boss and orient it so that the stator wires are closest to the stator plug hole in the case. Install and torque the new stator bolts to factory specification (refer to manufacturer's torque sheet). Do not re-use the old bolts. The bolts come pre-treated with Loctite and are designed for one-time use. Insert the stator plug into the plug hole and snap it into place.
    • 4 Slide the reluctor bowl onto the sprocket shaft and bottom it onto the shaft shoulder. Align the splines on the shaft and the compensator/sprocket assembly and slide the assembly into position. Install the engine sprocket nut and torque to factory specification for your model of Harley. Adjust the primary chain tensioner to factory specification.
    • 5 Scrape the old primary gasket from the case. Harley Davidson gaskets are produced with a print-o-seal feature that melts and '"cooks" onto the case surface. Insure that all of the old gasket is removed from the machined surfaces. Use caution when scraping the gasket, as the cast-aluminum cases are easily gouged, leading to poor sealing and leaks. Install the fresh gasket onto the locating studs, followed by the primary chaincase cover. Torque the primary cover to the proper torque and in the recommended pattern according to the specification sheet for your model of Harley. Remove the inspection plate and add new chaincase lubricant. Replace the inspection cover gasket and re-install the inspection plate.

How to check stater on 1992 honda shadow

Locate the wire harness coming out of the stator on the left crank case cover of the motor and follow it to the plug with three yellow wires. This is the stator plug. You should have continuity between any combination of the three yellow wires, but no continuity between any of the yellow wires and ground. If the stator yellow wires are grounding you will have to replace the stator. To replace the stator remove the left crank case cover and unbolt the stator from the inside of the cover. Do not forget to purchase a new left cover gasket with the new stator or you will just delay your riding.

Need to know how to install a regulator and estator in cavalcade ,1986 model? Also, need to know where they are located.

The Regulator/Rectifier is located ontop of the headlight. You can see it through the grill there. To change it requires the removal of the fairing, false tank, seat, instrument cluster cover. The Stator is located on the left side(sitting on the bike) of the motor. You can change it by lying the bike over on something soft, old mattress or the grass, on the motor - remove the left rear (secondary) cover and the stator cover. NOTE the lay of the wires and the wire guard. Remove the stator and follow the wires up to where they connect to the Reg/Rect behind the right indicator light. If you were only doing the Stator, then some people splice the wires in behind the left sidecover with heavy duty splices and solder combined. For more info on these bikes, join the worldwide email group via Suzuki Hope this helps.

Change stator. Left side of motor. Its real easy to do. If your to buy a used one order the gasket from Suzuki first. Its going to take a few days. Also get all you need for the oil change also...due to the fact that all the oil is going to come out with the stator cover removal. . Suzuki can run a diagnostic on it for you as well.

How to change an alternator on 2002 r1

If you are talking about the stator, you need to remove the left engine side cover, remove the bolt that is holding the fly wheel to the crankshaft, then use a flywheel puller to get the flywheel off the crankshaft, then remove the 3 screws holding the stator to the cases. Unplug the electrical connection for the stator and reverse the procedure for reassembly. Use a new gasket, and be sure to apply Yamabond 4 to the case cover across the rubber plug for the wires and extend the yamabond down the cover gasket surface about 1" past the rubber on each side.
Use some lock tite when putting the screws back in to the new stator. You do not want them coming loose on you!
Make sure you get the bolt holding the flywheel tight when going back together.
That should fix you up!
