Question about 1997 Honda VF 750 C Magna
I have a honda 750 magna VF...it is losing fuell rapidly. do not see any visible leaks, but do smeel a strong oder of gas. I just idle my bike for about 5minutes, and there is raw fuel poling out the right bottom exhaust pipe. Going to check the spark plug again, tos ee if it is loose . Any thought on possible other problems?ThanksSteve
Check you fuel pipes in between the V. Your bike wouldn't run at all if there was that much fuel going through the exhaust pipe( not for very long anyway!)

SOURCE: Engine filling up with gas
The carburetor float is not closing off completely. The fuel fills carb bowl, leaks into crackcase (Yes, fuel will flow past the rings) via intake or crackcase vents. Install fuel cutoff valve at tank and rebuild carb.

hello and welcome
with that long of a storage period it is a safe bet that the jets in the carbs have plugged over. this can happen with little as a month or two without proper winterization or fuel conditioning prior to storage. so the carbs will need to be removed and cleaned properly. this is quite the task on the older v4 hondas. and i would reccomend a manual before doing so. after being removed a good can or two of aresol carb cleaner and a small gauge wire to break up builup can clean these carbs out. this is a very very common problem. and im sure you will find this to be the source for your no start. thank you.

Try starting it then pull the plug out right after trying if the plug is wet you have to much fuel and the float is stuck or has a hole in it and it is most likely your problem if you have fire. if it is flooded you can pull out the spark plug and clean it and kick the motor over to get excess gas out of the cylinder try installing it again then start it, does it fire up? if it does it's flooded due to the problem listed above. If it does not start pull plugs out again add a cap of motor oil in the cylinders and if the plugs are dry reinstall plugs and see if it runs, If it does it may have stuck rings the capful of oil will make the rings seat once this happens they rings should loosen up if not and it will not run after you shut it off then you have low compression. This is assuming you know you have a blue spark to the plug and have cleaned and gapped the plug or plugs. If you need more help psot here and reply tothe e-mail you recieved with this. Hope this helps.
