Replaced old battery and put in a new one and as soon as I hooked up the battery the fuse for the batter blew right away. I tried to replace the fuse and automatically blew the new one. Trying to figure out where the feed back is coming from.

Where do I start? Do I pull all the wiring from the harness and see if there are any bare wires? Where and what do I disconnect first?

Battery died and blew both fuel and ignition fuses, replaced them both and put in another battery , soon as connect battery the fuel fuse keeps blowing,, Suzuki Boulevard

Hi, Mark you have a dead short which is usually the easiest to find. Using a test light connected to the hot side of the blown fuse holder, start probing the wire leaving the fuse holder about an inch away the test light should illuminate, keep probing towards the ignition switch until the test light no longer illuminates you are now very close to the short. For more information about your issue and valuable "FREE" downloads that you will need please visit the websites below. Good luck and have a nice day.

40 amp. fuse keeps blowing out on 2008 harley

You have a short. Check the insulation on all wiring that carries + voltage - possible that some wire may have lost insulation and is abutting some metal part shorting it out.

The batter was hooked up wrong and it blew the main fuse on the starter relay solenoid. I replaced the fuse and the lights worked but still wouldn't even try to crank. So I replaced the solenoid still...

hi there dennis it could be the main ignition fuse not just the relay or you may have burnt one of the earth leads through ,but it would be worth checking the main fuse block cheers

My 2000 Honda Valkyrie won't start. Replaced the battery, replaced the starter button assembly (whole right side switch assembly) with a new part directly from Honda. When I turn the key everything turns...

First check battery connections...
then check Ignition fuse
then check your interlocks...in neutral, sidestand up....kill switch to RUN...also try using clutch in case the neutral switch is not grounding the starter circuit properly.

Harley Davidson Wiring Diagrams and Schematics
Hi Anonymous, you have a hard/dead short that should be easy to find generally they are the easiest. Time to get out your test light and connect it to the power side of the, circuit breaker or the blown fuse receiver, start by tracking the out bound wire towards the ignition switch and beyond if necessary, when the test light quits lighting you are very close to your short. For a free wiring diagram please visit the website above. Good luck and have nice day.

1974 honda cb550 will not run?

• The first thing to do with ANY engine that has sat for any longer than a couple of months is to dump ALL the fuel in the tank and carb(s). ALL OF IT !! You'll want to refill with some high priced fuel that has fuel system cleaners (Like Chevron with Techron) not becasue you need high-test fuel, but because you need the cleaners. It's ether that or disassemble the carbs and clean out jets you can't find much less see. Your choice. The carb kits alone will cost you about $50 so a tank of high-test is looking pretty good, huh?

• Now the fact that you tried to crank the engine with old fuel has fouled the sparkplugs. All of them. Go buy all new sparkplugs.
