Acceleration; jerking....FUEL FILTER?

WHen I try to accelerate it feels as though it is about to really bog down , then it starts jerking. AFterwards it will kick back to normal. I'm thinking fuel filter but I Dont know where it is located. 1991 Mazda Protoge.

I have a 1997 mazda metro 121. Its lacking accelaration. Using twice the fuel. Could it be the fuel filter or timing belt? Also jolts a bit when accelarating up the gears .

Bogs down with little acceleration

run fault codes and look for accelerator position sensor and MAF/MAP problems. Have a pressure test done on the fuel manifold to check for pump, pressure regulator and filter problems.

Sluggish acceleration, frequent jerking and engine knock at high RPM

Sounds to me like the timing is off! it COULD be bad gas though! run that tank through, and refill, then see how it feels!

96 Jimmy bogs down when I accelerate hard

Sounds like the fuel filter is getting clogged. It will flow enough fuel for normal driving, but can't supply fuel for full throttle acceleration, causing the engine to bog down. Replacing the fuel filter with a new one should fix the problem.

Car feels like it's bogging down during acceleration, also sort of stutters starting at 45 mph and progressively gets worse above that. I had the radiator, timing belt, and water pump replaced last week....

try replacing your fuel filter, With big temperature swings this time of year, condensation (water) forms in fuel tank, Prior to changing fuel filter run a bottle of STP gas treatment or a good injector cleaner through it.

At times, it's like there's no acceleration. Especially, when the vehicle comes to a complete stop; then once you continue, it feels like there is hardly any power. Give it about a few seconds, then it...

Is it a possible transmission problem?
Does the car start out in 1st gear?
....maybe it is starting off in 2nd or 3rd and kicking down into 1st once you get rolling?
Try and feel or hear if the RPM increases when you get the power back as it jerks.

1994 LT1 Engine "balks" under acceleration intermittently

Your fuel pump or your catalytic is plugged. have it tested with a infrared gun it will tell you if the cat is bad and if it is replace it test the fuel pump for fuel rail pressure it should read 50 psi then hold to 20 psi for 1 minute.. Also check to see if the intake plate is dirty and if it is do a top engine clean, buy GM's top engine cleaner and run it threw the engine, if you have carbon buildup the compression and cause the car to run bad and the knock sensor will not be able to adjust time. I know this sounds silly but these three things will cause your problem and so will a bad fuel filter.
