Goldwing 5 pin headset connector to 7 Pin Harley Ultra conversion

I want to build an adaptor cable for my 5 pin headset from my goldwing for my 7 pin harley headset so I can use the same helmet on both bikes. What are the pinout connections for these two bikes?

SOURCE: removing harley davidson ultra classic gas tank

Drain the fuel either by siphening or removing the cross over tube at the front of the tank and letting it drain that way or just block off those cross over lines and leave the fule in the tank for removal.

0) remove seat
1) drain fuel
2) undo cross over line (bottom front of gas tank.
3) shut off pet **** and remove fuel line from pet ****.
4)there should only be 2 bolts holding the tank on, one at the top front of the tank and one at the back of the tank.

All in all a pretty easy (but possibloy messy) job.

2010 harley ultra turn signals flashing won't start?

Hi, Roger start with # 5 otherwise the usual suspects are:
1. Ignition Switch not in the "ON" position.
2. Engine Run Switch in the "OFF" position.
3. Discharged battery, check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
4. Bank angle sensor tripped and ignition/light key switch not cycled to the "OFF" position and then back to the "ON" position.
5. Security alarm needs a reset.
6. Starter control circuit, relay, or solenoid faulty.
7. Faulty starter button.
8. Electric starter shaft pinion gear is not engaging or over-running starter clutch slipping.

This may help you ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RTy_JKI9cQ0 ... probably not.

Resetting your security system depends on which system you have. To do any of them, you must have the fob. If you don't have the fob, only Harley can clear. Be prepared to prove ownership when you arrive.

To reset the code with a TSSM equipped bike, you will:
1) Set your kill switch to off
2) Quickly turn the ignition switch on, off, on, off, on
3) Immediately press and let go of the left turn signal switch twice (press, let go, press, let go)
4) Press and let go of your fob button twice (press fairly hard, it's designed to resist being pressed by keys and what not in your pocket)
5) Current PIN number will be displayed on odometer
6) Change the PIN by pressing the left signal until the desired number is reached
7) Press the fob button twice to cycle to the next number and repeat step 7
8) Press and let go the right signal and turn ignition off when 5 digit PIN is satisfactory
NOTE: Steps 2 through 4 must be completed in quick succession of each other.

Now you can have the bike armed, and disarm with the PIN (example PIN will be 25522 in the following steps):
1) Ignition switch to Accessories
2) Immediately press both turn signals at the same time (red key light on you speedometer will flash rapidly if done right)
3) Press and let go the left signal 2 times
4) Press and let go the right signal once
5) Press and let go the left signal 5 times
6) Press and let go the right signal once
7) Repeat for each of the last three numbers of the PIN (left 5 times, right once, left 2 times, right once, left 2 times, right once)
8) Red key on speedo will stop blinking if done right (security has been disarmed)
NOTE: Steps 2 through 7 must be completed in quick succession of each other.

To reset the code with a HFSM equipped bike, you will:
1) Have your key fob near the bike
2) Set your kill switch to off
3) Quickly turn the ignition switch on, off, on, off, on
4) Immediately press and let go of the left turn signal switch twice (press, let go, press, let go)
5) Press and let go the right signal once
6) Current PIN number will be displayed on odometer
7) Change the PIN by pressing the left signal until the desired number is reached
8) Press the right signal to cycle to the next number and repeat step 7
9) Turn ignition off when 5 digit PIN is satisfactory
NOTE: Steps 3 through 5 must be completed in quick succession of each other.

Now you can have the bike armed, and disarm with the PIN (example PIN will be 25522 in the following steps):
1) Ignition switch to on
2) Immediately press both turn signals at the same time (red key light on you speedometer will flash rapidly if done right)
3) Press and let go the left signal 2 times
4) Press and let go the right signal once
5) Press and let go the left signal 5 times
6) Press and let go the right signal once
7) Repeat for each of the last three numbers of the PIN (left 5 times, right once, left 2 times, right once, left 2 times, right once)
8) Red key on speedo will stop blinking if done right (security has been disarmed)

Whitehorse Press in NH (Google them) has coverters. I bought a J&M setup that works well for me, I just had to buy two plugs for the headset, one for my HD and anther for my BMW. They also have ones for FJR and Hondas.

I would like the color breakdown on the wiring diagram

colors are on the bike side of the connector are spelled out in the shop manual, however they do not include what is used for the headset side of the connector. These are the three pin numbers on the connector that appear to be the ones for the microphone portion. Hope it helps. For the whole setup the passenger uses 5 pins and a tab; while the driver uses all 7 pins plus a tab. So, on a HD three wires will not correctly interface with the system.

pin 4 =BK = MIC Common
pin 2 = passenger gy/bk & Drain = MIC Shield
pin 2 = front y/bk & Drain = MIC Shield
pin 1 = red = MIC

91 goldwing stops when brakes are pplied

You have a wire that is shorting to the ground in the brake switch system. It's probably not in one of the switches, since it happens when either brake is activated. More likely wire grounding on frame or in harness somewhere. You should hear something in your headset when this happens. I am supprised that it hasn't blown fuse. Rick

Shure SM2 Headset/Mic wiring

Headset connection: Blue wire to Pin 2, White wire to Pin 1, Yellow wire to Pin 3. Connect Pins 1 & 2.
Microphone connection: Black wire to Pin 3. Red wire to Pin 2. Ground wire to Pin 1.
I am using a male/female 7-pin XLR connector assembly to black box. I am using two 3-pin XLR connectors, one for SM2 microphone function, one for SM2 headset function.
