Question about 2003 Suzuki LS 650 Savage

1 Answer

My Suzuki Marauder will initially start but won't stay running. The tank is full, the fuel switch is in the 'on' position ,and the throttle is open. Is this a temperature issue? I heard Suzukis are tempermental to cold weather.

Could be a fuel issue or vacum issue also. If the bike stays running with you giveing it gas, then it may be an idleing issue.I would test first to see if it stays running when giveing it gas, if so then adjust the idleing. If not then I would reccomend a good fuel system cleaning. If the problem still persist then I would start checking for a vacum issue.

Carbs running rich.. choke still on (jammed)
The carbs likely need a rebuild or a good cleaning.. try running SEAFOAM through the fuel system for a few tanks

Check the throttle travel and determine if you have full open and close. You may have tweeked something that prevents the throttle from opening fully.

I have a 2003 suzuki marauder vz800. the bike will only crank and idle with the choke on fully. when i push the choke all the way in, the bike dies. what is the possible solution for this problem???

check your fuel strainers in your tank. you can also switch the fuel selector switch to reserve. if none of this works, then its probably your fuel pump

Have a 2004 suzuki marauder. engine starts but

Your idle circuit jet is clogged, you will need to run seafoam fuel additive in your gas tank and see if this clears it up or clean the carbs.

How does the tank come off on a 2001 suzuki vz800 marauder

first take off the seat
when the front seat is removed you will clearly see 2 10 mm bolts holding down the tank...
you must also disconnect the fuel lines at the fuel shut off switch, i plug them with golf tees
perfect fit.

98 suzuki marauder cranks over but will not start.

Hi,

- Some stupid checks to do ( but essential )
Is there fuel in the tank?
Is the fuel **** in an open, or even 'res' position?

- Remove the spark plugs, look if they aren't soaked wet.
- reconnect the ignition leads the the plugs, with the spark plugs touching the engine.
- Crank the engine and see if there are sparks at all the spark plugs.
- If yes, check for clogged carburettors and/or too low compression.
