SOURCE: 1983 Honda CB550 Electrical Issue

sounds like a poor ground issue, pull out the headlight and check all connections in there, your turn signals are on seperate feeds than the lights but they will probably share the same ground/earth in the headlight

Don't know if this will help but more and more goofy electrical problems on newer hogs are linked to faulty alarm systems.sometimes using fob instead of key to reset alarm sometimes works.Just a shot maybe something to check out.

Hello and welcome to FixYa!
Looks like a faulty ignition coil to me. I strongly suggest that you go for ignition coil replacement as a first course of action. If the coil is faulty there will be no spark to the plugs. Once replaced I believe you'll be good.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Turn signals and brake lights an horn stopped working on 2004 2004 harley roadking

Hi, Rick before diagnosing any turn signal/running light/parking light issue make sure the bulb is good and the light fuse has continuity with a test light. If you have replaced you OEM lights with LED lights you are going to need a load equalizer. If no turn signals work the cause could be a faulty turn signal module or the connector going to it, look for corroded, loose, or broken pins/sockets. Contact spray cleaner is great for removing corrosion. If your speedometer does not function properly it will have to be fixed first because your turn signal module gets the data from the speedometer for normal turn signal function. If your front turn signals don't work use a test light to check for power and ground at the bulb socket, then start backtracking the wiring through every wire connector to the turn signal switch/button and check for continuity, go all the way back to the fuse if necessary to find the cause of the malfunction. If your rear turn signals don't work check your rear fender wiring harness connector first for corroded, broken, loose pins/sockets, power, and a good ground, (the harness connector is usually located under the seat on the front of the rear fender) then keep tracing the wiring look for obvious harness damage caused by the rear tire. If you still can't find the malfunction backtrack from the rear fender wiring harness connector. If one side does not work you could have a faulty turn signal switch or module check for continuity. I have a 2005 Harley Road King Custom. With ignition switch on, I have horn, brake lights and instrument light. I don't hear fuel pump, turn signals don't work; headlight doesn't work and

Hi Mark, I would start by checking fuses first located behind the left side panel. Then check for continuity at your system/fuel pump relay also in that same general area, check the connection at the turn signal module and for continuity at the ignition switch and your high/low beam switch. This is assuming of course that your security alarm has been disabled. for more information on your question please visit the websites below and good luck:

Left turn signal comes on when I turn the ignition then doesn't work

I am having the same issue on a 2005 FLHRCI Road King Classic. Basically the left turn signal comes on when I start the engine. It will not cancel by pushing the left turn signal button. However, if I push the right turn signal button the left will go off and the right will start blinking. Sometimes, this same action starts all four signals blinking (like the emergency flashers). It is very erratic. I have Kuryakan pancea rear taillights and brake light. The brake light went out so I went a bought a new brake/taillight with a new adapter. Brake lights work now but the blinker problems happens whether the back lights are connected or not. Front turn signals are stock.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Speedo, turn signals, brake lights, horn stopped working. All else is fine.

Gap your plugs to 38 thou. Check all your bulbs (one burned out will affect the rest) Take a look at all your fuses and make sure they are all ok. Otherwise you are probably looking at a wiring short which will require trouble shooting of the elctrical system. Buy your self a service manual for your bike, this will help you a lot.

I have a 2003 road king that the break lights don't work when I press the breaks either on the break pedal or on the handle bars.

Check your brake selenoid, which should have a electric connection. This connection sends a signal to the brake light selenoid that the brakes are being applied there by turning the brakes lights on.
