SOURCE: Fork oil capacity for a 2005 kawasaki vn1600 mean

Hi Des, Im am Irish too, howya doin? The oil you want is SAE 10W-20. and 445ml if you are changing the oil. It can be more accurately checked with the fork removed and fully compressed and the spring removed, the oil will be 120mm from the top ot the stanchion.
The manual will give you more info on this and any other future problems so here is a link to it. Good luck to ya, and please rate me if I've helped you. Thanks

Can I install a Kawasaki ZX1400 engine into my little 1985 ZL900, also with keeping stock drive shaft?

Anything is possible with enough money, and I would like to see the end product.
However consider the frame on the ZL will not be up the stress the ZX can generate, and is with its age is probably a little fatigued.
But you'll need to measure dimensions of the donor engine - where bolts are and engine mounts go. The stock drive shaft will probably not be able to be retained.

Just rebuilt head, new head gasket. It sat with new oil for 1 month and oil was fine. I started it, and within 45 seconds there was water in the oil.

If the compression is OK and the head gasket is OK there is possibly a crack in the head.
Hard work sometimes rebuilding engines to find more faults.

Zl900 eliminator starts and runs good. when i put it into gear (with the side stand up)the motor shuts down.

It sounds like the side-stand switch is not working - check for continuity across it & for any bad contacts or broken / crushed wiring also

Had trouble finding a sparkplug cap for my 86 zl-900. I put in a different cap, but it doesn't seal the sparkplug chamber and my bike has a hesitation when I hit the throttle? Also, how much oil do I need...

GPZ900 spark plug caps fit fine & are easier to get hold of, but get genuine!
3 litres with a filter change, 2.7 without

Hope this helps (if so please mark as helpful !!)

On the oil fill port, there will be a number with cc after it. That is how many cc's of oil your crankcase holds. There are 946cc in one quart.

Hope this helps,

I have a kawasaki 600 eliminator

Ck the fuel tank petcock for proper position. Fuel is filling your cylinders and pasing the rings into the crankcase. Diluted oil will take out bearings. Good luck. I you must, turn off your fuel when parked and not running.

My motor is missing & I found anonmatalic or atleast nonmatalic

this is a very bad sign and usually means the pistons have been scarred by a foreign object or you bearings have worn beyond usability. you should not run the bike while it is like this as it will progressivly get worse till it seizes up completely
