Definitely not the battery or regulator. It's a problem with the alarm. Try re-setting it by following the direction in your owner's manual.

SOURCE: how to deactivate the security alarm

Replace the batteries in the fobs. Or, if you know your security pin code, you can enter it my using the turn signal buttons.Turn the bike on and push in both turnsignal buttons at the same time until the red secruity lite begins flashing. Enter the first number of the code by pressing the left turn signal switch the same number of times as the first number of the code. Press the right turn signal switch once to advance to the next number of the code and use the left switch to enter the second number. Do this for all 5 numbers in the code. After all 5 numbers are entered, you can start the bike. If you don't know the code, take the bike to a Harley dealer and have them hook the bike up to Digital Technician and they can retrieve the code for you.

Hazards flash 6 times, bike wont start

Your anti theft system is activating when it flashes. You need to push the button on your key fob to disarm it. When you do the flashers should flash once or twice to signal that it is armed/disarmed. If it does not, try replacing your battery in your fob. or use the anti theft codes with your ignition switch and turn signal buttons. Check your users manual to do that.

Harley fob 05 fat boy

2005 Softail ARMING/DISARMING SECURITY SYSTEM (TSSM) 3.7
GENERAL
The security system can be armed automatically by the TSSM when the bike is shut down or manually by the use of the fob and it can be turned off automatically by having the fob within range when the ignition is turned on or by entering the PIN or personal code.

The security system lamp in the speedometer head confirms the status of the system as armed or disarmed.

The range within which the fob will work is dependent on the environmental and geographic conditions so the fob should be held at about waist level and horizontal to the tssm and pointed at the front of the bike with the fob button held down until both of the turn signals flash twice which indicates that the TSSM has responded to the fob and the security system has been activated. To disarm the system the fob should also be held at about waist level and horizontal to the TSSM and pointed at the front of the bike and the fob button rapidly pressed two times within 1.5 seconds after which if the TSSM has responded and turned off the security system the signal lights will flash one time.

The fob is synchronized to the particular TSSM and the fob button should not be pressed very often when it is away from the bike because this might cause it to become de-synchronized to the particular TSSM which would require that the fob button be pressed and held within range of the TSSM for 10 to 15 seconds or until it is re-synchronized and the signal lights flash two times in response.

The personal code (PIN) consists of five numbers or digits each of which can be any number from 1 to 9 that are individually entered into the security system by using the left and right turn signal switches. This number can be used to disarm the security system without the fob. If an error is made while entering the PIN the TSSM will activate the alarm for 30 seconds after the fifth digit is entered and the security lamp will flash every second for ten minutes and there cannot be any further attempts to enter the code during this ten minute period.

The way to enter a personal code is to set the RUN/OFF switch to OFF, turn the IGNITION key to ACC, hold both turn switches in until the security lamp blinks at a fast rate to confirm that the security system is ready for personal code entry, THEN enter the first PIN digit (number) by pressing the left turn switch button a number of times equal to the value of the first digit of the PIN, i.e. for 1 press once for 2 press twice etc., then press the right turn signal switch button 1 time to enter the first number, THEN press the left turn signal switch button the number of times that is equal to the second number of the PIN, followed by pressing the right turn signal switch button 1 time to enter the second number, then press the left signal light switch button the number of times equal to the third number of the PIN followed by pressing the right signal light switch button one time to enter the third number of the PIN, THEN press the button of the left turn signal light switch a number of times equal to the number of the fourth PIN number followed by pressing the right signal light switch button once to enter the fourth PIN number, THEN press the left signal light switch button the number of ties that is equal to the fifth number of the PIN followed by pressing the right turn signal switch button one time to enter this final number of the PIN at which point the security lamp in the speedometer head will stop flashing and the signal lights will flash once to confirm that the security system has been disarmed.

If the security lamp light in the speedometer head does not flash the security system is not armed or the bike does not have a security system or the system if installed is in storage mode.If the security system light in the speedometer head flashes every second for ten minutes there has been a failed PIN entry attempt. If the security system light in the speedometer head flashes once every two seconds the security system is armed. If the security system light in the speedometer head flashes 3 times per second the system is in PIN entry mode. If the security system light stays on solidly with the ignition key OFF auto-arming is commencing and there will be a 30 second period before the system is armed. If the security system light in the speedometer head stays on solidly for more than 4 seconds with the ignition switch ON there is a current DTC(s) set.

With a TSM if the four-way flashers flash 6 times shortly after the ignition switch is turned to ON you should check for DTC's that have been set.

A TSSM diagnosis starts with observation of the security system light in the speedometer head at KEY ON which means that the run switch and the ignition switch are both ON without starting the engine. When the ignition key is turned ON, the security lamp will illuminate for approximately four seconds and then turn off. If the security lamp is not illuminated at Key ON or if it fails to turn OFF after the initial four second period, the speedometer may be defective and need to be replaced. If BUS Er is displayed on the odometer, it may take up to twenty seconds for the security lamp to illuminate. The security lamp will also light for eight seconds after the first four second bulb check period if any historic diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) are present. After the initial 4 second bulb check period of lamp illumination the security lamp will stay on if current DTCs are set. If a historic DTC is present, the security lamp will continue to light for 50 ignition cycles or until the DTC has been manually cleared away. After the lamp turns off after being illuminated for the first four second period, one of three events may occur: 1.The lamp will remains off which indicates there are no current fault conditions or stored historic DTCs being detected by the TSSM. 2. The lamp stays off for four seconds and then comes back on for an eight-second period which indicates that a historic DTC is stored, but no current DTC exists. 3. If the lamp remains on beyond the eight-second period a current DTC exists.

Turn off alarm without key fob

First off, you need to know the PIN.
Setting the PIN is as follows:

Think of a five-digit PIN, and write it down. Think of this set of numbers as a password for starting your bike and disabling the alarm during those times when you don't have your fob.
Turn the ignition key on, then off, then on, then off, then on again. Then press the left turn-signal switch twice. Press the right turn-signal switch once, and the current PIN should appear in your odometer.
Be sure the first digit of the PIN is flashing. Enter the first digit of your new PIN by pressing the left turn signal to cycle through the numbers.
Press the right turn signal once to switch to the second digit, and select the correct number with the left turn signal. Repeat this process until your new PIN is entered correctly.
Press the right turn signal once, then turn the ignition key off to save the PIN you selected.

Now, how to disable:

Let's assume for simplicity that your code is set at 31313 and you wish to use the manual disarm of the security system using the directional switches as if you lost your fob and cannot disarm the system.

Your security system will disarm the bike and it cannot be started without deactivating the system first.

If you are unsure of what the manual code is refer to the top of this page or check with your dealer and set one if it has not been set by them.

Again this is based on your code being 31313 just to make it easier to understand.

1. Turn the ignition to Accessory.

2. Press both turn signals. (security light should flash rapidly)

3. Press left turn signal button 3 times (the 1st "3" of the PIN). Press right turn signal button 1 time (to "set" the code number).

4. Press left turn signal button 1 time (2nd number of PIN). Press right turn signal button 1 time.

5. Press left turn signal button 3 times. Press right turn signal button 1 time.

6. Press left turn signal button 1 time. Press right turn signal button 1 time.

7. Press left turn signal button 3 times. Press right turn signal button 1 time.

Security light stops flashing and security system is disarmed.

If you've changed the number, use your new number instead of 31313.

I just bought a 2003 road king classic and can not set the alarm. Can you tell the procedure?

Arming: Hold Fob button down until signals flash twice. The 'key' lamp on
the speedo will Blink to indicate the system is armed. If auto arming is
enabled, the key lamp will Stay continuously lit for 30 seconds after the ignition is turned off, then the system Will arm itself.

Disarming: 'Double-click' the Fob, the signals will flash once and the key lamp will stop flashing. If the Fob is lost or not working, the system can be disabled by entering the passcode. Without setting off the alarm, get the ignition switch to accessory, hold down both left and Right signal switches until the key lamp flashes rapidly, enter the first digit on the left And use the right as an 'enter' key, enter all five digits of the passcode and the system will Disarm, if you screw up, the alarm will activate and you will have to wait ten minutes.

Transport Mode: Allows the system to be armed with the motion sensors disabled for service, Trailering, etc. Turn the ignition switch on, arm with the Fob, turn the ignition off and Arm once again with the Fob. Signals will flash 3 times to confirm
arming, All other functions of the alarm system require entering the configuration mode. This is done by Disarming the system, run/stop switch in stop, flip the ignition switch on/off/on/off/on Then push the left signal button
twice. If power was disturbed to the alarm module, The sequence may have to be repeated to get into configuration mode. The system will respond by flashing out the module type code.
(1-TSM, 2-TSSM dom, 3-TSSM hdi)
Now that you are in the config mode, you can do the following.....

- To assign the Fobs, push the right once (one flash) then the left once (two flashes)
Then hold down the Fob button until the system recognizes it. Hold down the second
Fob until the system recognizes it. Both Fobs must be assigned at the same time.

- To assign a passcode, use the fob to send a disarm command, signal will flash once
To indicate the first digit, push the left signal button and the key light will flash out the Value of the first digit. Pushing the left button will advance the value up through 9 and Will start over at 1. When done setting the first digit, double click the fob again and The signals will flash twice to indicate the second digit, continue on through all five digits. Turn ignition off to exit.

- To adjust the sensitivity, use the fob to send an arm command (one flash) then push the Left signal button once. The signals will flash out the current setting, 1-4, push the left Button to advance the setting, turn ignition off to exit.

- To extract system trouble codes, press the right signal button three times,
pausing between Each press for the system to flash once, twice, and three times
respectively. Press the left signal button once and they signals will flash out two digit
codes. Press and hold the left button to clear all codes from memory, otherwise
turn ign off to exit.

- To enable auto arming, use the fob to arm the system twice, and press the
left button once. The system will flash the setting code, 1-disabled, 2-enabled. Press the left button to change The setting, turn ignition off to exit.

- To adjust between Sidecar mode and normal mode, push the right button
twice quickly, Then the left button once and the signal will flash out the current setting, 1-normal, 2-sidecar. Press the left button to change the setting, then turn the
ignition off to exit.

- To adjust the length of time delay before going into storage mode, use the fob to send an Arm command three times, then push the left button, the signal will flash out the current setting. 1-30 days, 2-60 days, 3-90 days, 4-disabled. Use the left
button to advance the setting and turn the ignition off to exit.

Lost my FOB I have a new one but I cant turn the alarm off, I called harley and they said to turn on the bike and immediatly push both left and right blinker buttons, Ive done this probably 30 times and it...

OK so here is your solution. from your dealer when you purchased your bike with the alarm system you were given a 5 digit pin number. in order to turn it off manually you need to unlock (if locked) the switch, turn it to accessory.
push both left and right blinker buttons in
with the left blinker button is you "digits" so if (ex 56726) push the left button five times
to go to the next button push the right blinker one time then left six times
the right blinker one time and left blinker seven times
then right two times right once
left six times and right once. this will turn off the alarm

to program the fob you need to turn the ignition switch in a sequence of
on off on off on
with the blinker buttons you push
left left right left and your signals will flash the hazards twice
push and hold the fob button till the hazards blink three times and you have just programed your fob
push and hold your fob to set alarm and double click to disarm your alarm

Security system FOB inactive, battery good, no pin. Need to disarm. What can we try next?

You'll need the PIN number.
If you don't know it, you'll have to change it to a 5 digit PIN number you select.

With the fob present, turn IGN switch:
IGNITION-OFF-IGNITION-OFF-IGNITION
Press LEFT turn signal switch 3 TIMES
Press RIGHT turn signal switch 1 TIME and release
Turn signals will flash 3 times. Current PIN will appear in odometer. The first digit will be flashing.

If changing PIN, enter first digit (a) of new PIN by pressing LEFT signal switch (a) time(s) i.e., for the number 1, press one time. for the number 5, press 5 times.

Press RIGHT signal switch 1 TIME and release.
the new digit (a) will replace the current in odometer window.

Enter second digit (b) with LEFT signal switch.

Repeat until PIN is set.

Once PIN is set (either new or old PIN), to disarm security system, DO NOT sit on seat, lift bike off kick stand, or anything else that will activate the security mode!

Turn IGN to IGNITION.

Quickly (within 2 seconds) hold BOTH turn signal switches until confirmation signal (KEY icon flashes at fast rate, in odometer window, a flashing "-" will be followed by 4 more dashes = "----")

Enter 1st digit (a) in PIN by pressing LEFT turn signal switch (a) times (i.e., 5 times for the number 5)
The 1st "-" will become the 1st digit (i.e., "5")

Press RIGHT switch signal 1 TIME.
The 1st digit is stored and the dash will flash.

Enter 2nd digit (b), and repeat sequence until done.

After the 5th digit is entered, the KEY icon stops blinking, and the system is disarmed.

The system will stay off until the IGN switch is turned off.

If at any time during disarming sequence an error is made, wait 2 minutes before trying again.
