SOURCE: oil drain plug

Hi
It is located on the right side just under the oil tank ; if you follow the rudder hose that exits the rear right side of your oil tank it leads to the bottom of the frame under this is the oil plug. This hose has a plug clamped to the end of it or stuck into a prug that is welded to the frame.
After this unclamp and pull the plug to make sure that you have the dipstick out before pulling it loose.

Please do rate the solution as "FixYa" if found useful and revert for further assistance.
Thanks Rylee

Where is the oil drain plug on a 2008 harley fat bob

1) Drain plug for crank drain, is on the left side of the oil bag.
About a half a cup of oil, always stays at the bottom of the crankcase. (Dry sump. Keeps the crank from having to thrash a bunch of oil around )

2) Primary Cover is on the bottom, just under the derby cover. (Cover at back of Primary Cover )

3) ****** drain plug is on the same side as the fill plug.

Change the O-rings too. Help keep that baby from making 'spots'.

2008 dyna fxdl 96 ci oil& ****** drain plugs

The oil and transmission drain plugs are on the bottom of the transmission. The engine oil tank is there. The center plug is the engine oil and the plug on the side is the transmission drain plug, I think. I don't work on the newer bikes and I'm not sure about which plug is which. I think I'm right though. I work on the older bikes (shovelheads and such) that the dealers will no longer work.

Good Luck

Where is the Oil Drain Plug, and where is the Primary Drain Plug?

Oil drain plug is located to the front or left side of the Dyna's oil pan. The drain plug for the primary is near the lowest point of the primary cover itself. Be careful, what looks like a hex/allen head screw/plug is a 6 pointed "Torx" drain plug.

Which plug is the oil plug and how many quarts

On a Dyna model after about the year 2000 the engine oil drain will take a 5/8" wrench to remove and it faces the front of the bike, there is also a identical drain plug for the transmission that faces downward. Most dyna models take around 3 quarts of engine oil and about 22 ozs. of transmission oil.

Where is the oil plug located on a 2005 Harley FXR?

I didn't think Harley made the FXR anymore. I thought they discontinued that bike in 1999 or so. But, just in case, the FXR's oil tank was under the seat. The drain was located at the bottom of the tank on the left side of the bike under the triangluar shaped frame insert.

Now if the bike is and FXD Dyna Super Glide, the oil tank is on the bottom of the transmission. Under the transmission, there are two drain plugs, one is located near the center of the oil pan and this is the transmission drain plug. The engine oil drain plug is located towards the left front of the oil pan. Drain the oil with the bike on the side stand.

To determine the exact model of your bike, search the Internet for the "Harley alphabet" You should be able to find a site that helps you decode your serial number (VIN#) to determine the exact model of your bike.

Good Luck
Steve
