Self start not working, starting problems..

Hi folks,

I have a lovely Bajaj Avenger which somehow I am driving after almost 3 months. The bike used to work perfectly before that.

These days, the self start does not responds atall. I have to use the kick multiple times before getting the engine running... the bike sometimes stops while driving as well...

Any suggestions?

Thanks in anticipation...

Regards,
Maku

Hi, Bajaj Avenger: Self start does not work when the bike is not on neutral. It starts only when the gear is on neutral. The service centre could not fix the problem. What might have gone...

By your bike design your starter motor will work only when you proceed to neutral because your neutral gear has a switch closed when neutral and opens when you put on gear...dont collapse it...if you do any modification you will obtain wiring problem...

How is avenger bike

If you are asking whether or not the Bajaj Avenger is a good bike or not, the answer is NO, it is not a good choice to buy this bike. It is not made as well as Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki or Kawasaki bikes. This means there are more problems with the Bajaj and another BIG problem is present. Where are you going to get parts to fix the Bajaj? There are very few dealers and repair parts are scarce. Get a Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki or Kawasaki bike. They have dealers all over.

Hi gunneetsingh

This is an issue with Bajaj avenger.
Only way is to recharge it and keep using your bike.
Unfortunately this is one big drawback with Bajaj bikes.

Iam plannig to purchase an Bajaj Avenger but my isssue is that I am working in gulf country I will be visiting to india once in every 6 months or 8 months. If I keep the bike without using for months what...

you could always take the negative lead off the battery while you aren't in town, also you need to worry about fuel, in the winter, fuel only has a 6 month shelf life, using stabil and other products can help, also you need to keep it covered and the tires off the ground so you dont get dry rot, on the various rubber components

Few problems wid Bajaj Avenger 200 dts-i

change repair shop for one. the knocking might come from bad gas, fuel up with supreme at reputable gas station. your dynamo/alternator/voltage regulator is probably not working properly either. check voltage
