Question about 1994 Honda VF 750 C Magna
When I get over about 30-50km/h there is an odd buzzing/humming noise that seems to be coming from the front on the bike somewhere. When I slow down between 5-30km/h it goes away. It didn't do it when I got the bike, doesn't lack power, and gets progressively more frequent. Any thoughts?@
Hi, Korrie_mccli I would love to help you with your engine or chassis noise but I just loaned my brand new pair of listening ears to your local dealer's chief technician so he could take your bike for a test ride and give you his professional opinion and estimate about your noise and repair cost. If you are a little short on "DRACHMA" and a Dealership is not on your list of fun places to visit then perhaps the list below will help soothe your worried mind so you can make an informed decision.

Where the noise is coming from?
Head of engine?
Centre of engine?
Do you feel that your bike is riding heavy that is you are forwarding the gears but the load of engine is not lightning.
Please reply me then i will tell you the solution.

This motorcycle does not have any type of governor system.
Has the bike been sitting for a long time (ie; more than 6~12 months)? If so, then the carburetors are clogged with fuel varnish and need to be cleaned. A slow return to idle - as well as low power output - can also be caused by plugged carbs, low compression, and/or cracked and leaking intake manifolds.
If the compression is low (less than 140~160 PSI per cylinder), check and adjust the valve tappet clearance. If a valve adjustment fails to restore low compression, then you've got more serious engine troubles.
For your intermittant left front running light, try spraying some electrical contact cleaner into the turn signal switch. As for the rear units, they are turn signals only (no running/parking lights).
