It sounds to me you may have a vacum issue with your tank that is causing to much fuel to get deliverd to the carbs, try checking all the hoses on the tank to me sure they are in the correct place. If so then check the patcock to be sure that it is not allowing to much fuel through.

My honda ran well until I hooked tail lights up and now I have neutral light and oil light no other lights work also it don't fire when I crank it lights come on as long as its cranking

Hi, Steve and the usual suspects are:
1. Fuel tank empty.
2. Fuel supply valve/petcock turned off.
3. Fouled spark plugs.
4. Engine flooded as a result of overuse of the enricher.
5. Vacuum hose to the fuel supply valve/petcock disconnected, broken, cracked, or pinched.
6. Fuel valve/petcock or filter clogged.
7. Discharged battery, check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
8. Loose or corroded wire connection at the coil, battery or plug between ignition sensor and module.
9. Spark plug cables in bad condition and shorting, cable connections loose, or connected to the wrong cylinders.
10. Ignition timing incorrect due to a faulty ignition coil, ignition module or sensors (MAP, CMP, CKP, O2 and/or BAS).
11. Faulty fuel pump fuse or relay.
11. Security alarm needs a reset.

Could still have a carb problem. Have you changed the fuel filter? That is always the first thing to do. Running on could also indicate a timing problem. How about the timing belts? have the been looked at lately? They may be stretch a bit or loose. Should not have to use premium in a Goldwing.

Went for my first ride out of my area ran great there on the way home could tell I had no fuel flow. I gased up before I left with the **** we have to buy now (second tank of the same stuff since buying...

First thing....Change fuel filter. If that doesn't do it, you may have a bad connection connection in the main power supply to the fuel pump. Or a bad ground.

Gas in my oil , 1982 1100 gl goldwing aspencade. what can I do

sure its oil? It might be filthy gas or something. If theres a strong smell of gas it can mean many things. some being costly, some being simple. if you left the gas valve on, you probably flooded the engine. youll have to let the fuel evaporate, or turn it over with the killswitch on to pump out the excess fuel. you might have to change some spark plugs if you did this. If its something else, it could be carbeurator problems or problems with the rings. If its really oil leaking out, then somethings wrong.

Great acceleration at top end until after 10 15 miles and then around town-- get on throttle--seems to be not accelerating near as clean and motor sounds different--bike also starts without choke and needs...

Very possible, you may need to find out if one of the carbs is flooding or jets have been switched. Check plugs to find out rich cylinder, it will be black with soot and others clean. Also choke could be on all of the time. need to check cable and where it attaches to carbs to make sure full off position is achived.

82 1100 aspencade, rattles and knocks when you gently accellerate. If you get into it a little is does'nt do it nearly as bad.

Ethanol in the fuel causes knocking in older high octane motorcycles. If it is fuel related , you will have to find non-oxygenated premium for classic cars to cure the problem.

Buying 1983 aspencade motorcycle , what problems

I have goldwings since 1980. They are very reliable. First thing I would change is the timing belt. (If it fails, bent valves...) As far as the stator, the normal fix for these 4 cylinder early ones (if they are still working) is to cut the 3 wire plug in between the stator & wiring harness & solder the leads together. Dirt, water, corrosion in this connection makes the stator fail. Make sure your carbs are clean and final drive & ft bearings are re-greased. Next problem that occurs that you can check for is oil seal in front forks. You can remove them & put new seals in by yourself if you have the tools. You should have lots more trouble free mileage if bike has been properly maintained. Rick

1984 aspencade starts w/choke and revs up, runs smooth. Take off

My 'wing won't run unless it has been warmed up some. I would suggest that you r&r your carbs to make sure the jets in the bottom are working correctly. They tend to get plugged up, especially after sitting & the aluminum flaking off inside... Rick
