Check the idle and air settings.

If the bike is chocking on start also check the air intake and the air filter.

Ensure that fuel has enough pressure, check fuel lines and fuel pump.

You could try using a fuel injection cleaner that should remove any clogs if there are any. If you do not see any improvement after about 3 uses, then this could be a more bigger and more expensive problem. Do you see any white or any color smoke coming from your exhaust pipes or any part of the engine? That could mean you need a new head or head gasket.

Hi

Sounds like you are going to need to disassemble the carbs and really clean them out. The idle jets are clogged. Also check your fuel filter. Its not that hard, just dont fug with the sync screws.
Also check this link for any further assistance.

Yes that was the service manual that I gave you it will work for your bike as well . The issue is with the fuel filter and you can check it.

Have you replaced the fuel filter and spark plugs.  Sounds to me like you have a fuel or ignition problem.  Check those and get back to me.  If those are fine, let me know and I will continue to help you until your issue is resolved.  Thanks.

Also, low quality fuel will do this also.  A friend of mine used cheap gas and his bike ran horrible.  After draining the tank and putting in the good gas, it ran fine.

My suzuki tl1000r just died while driving and wont restart. It clicks but wont try turning over

First is to test the battery, if you don't have an analyzer or load tester take the battery to an auto parts store or bike shop. If you have a voltmeter you can kinda test it--12.4v or higher with the key off and at least 11.5 with the key and headlight light on.

My motorcycle died suddenly in traffic andwill not start again. my battery seems to work fine , but it will not start.

Does it have a safety switch on the kickstand? If yes check to make sure it is working properly as it will shut the bike engine off. It's simple but most of the time it's the simple things that stop us...

The bike sputters when driving and stalls at stop lights

Sounds like the bike may have a little trash in the fuel line that goes from the tank to throttle bodys I would check the filter if it has one in line, I would also recommend a good tune up, spark plugs, air filter, oil, etc.

TL,s suffered from faulty fuel pumps, they also ran out of fuel just as the yellow light came on. also had problems with corrosion in the tilt sensor under the seat. this is a small square black box in a rubber hanger. If you remove this, make sure it goes back the right way up.
