Question about Yamaha YZ 250 Motorcycles

2 Answers

Hi, i have a 2001 YZ250 and have been having a slight problem at low revs, when i open the throttle up there seems to be a slight delay on speed pick up, this only lasts about 1 second and once ive reached mid range the bike is fine, however once i drop back down to low revs the same thing happens again. any solutions to this will be very welcome

If you have added aftermarket pipes then you could have a fuel mixture problem, or even dirt or grime in the fuel path, I would either rejet the carbs or I would do a good fuel system cleaning.

Why does my honda foreman 400 shuts off instead of idling.

It could be your idle speed is set too low. If it will run with the throttle slightly open and rides okay with the revs kept up I would try increasing the tickover speed and go from there.

Engine dies upon acceleration after starting and idling

turn the high speed and low speed mixture screws right in[gently]then out 2.5 turns.start it up,screw the idle screw up till it will idle, then adjust low speed mixture screw in or out so you get the highest idle.keep lowering the idle so as you adjust the screw,it wont get it any higher in revs.so by now it should idle.next, open the throttle wide, and adjust the high speed screw until you get maximum revs..then,turn screw 1/4 turn out.that makes it slightly richer, cooling the plug with droplets of petrol.you dont want it lean.if it wont rev fully, check the fuel filter.they get dirty quite often

Aprilia RS 125 Power Loss

I guess youwillhaveto adjust the clutch cable so as to open the plates more at the pressure plates to let the clutch plate rotate freely instead of binding thus the low rpm.
Hope this helps!

Your carb may be adjusted a little lean. Try adjusting the needle, keeping track of the changes you make, and blipping the throttle full to check the result.

Mcculloch strimmer/brush cutter - cuts out when throttle opened

Hi sounds like it could need a diaphram kit in the carby if it has mixture screws one markedl for low speed and one marked h for high speed you can try winding out the low speed screw a bit but if that does not work it will definatly need a kit.
