What octane gas is best for my 1991 Goldwing? When idling my goldwing engine revs up and down. Would a higher octane gas stop this?

Your problem is not octane related. It sounds like you have a vacuum leak, probably a hose. Check out this web site for info on how to diagnose your problem. www.hrot.org/martino/carb/index.htm

YOU NEED TO HAVE YOUR IDLE JETS CLEANED AND PUT A GAS FILTER AND REBUILD YOUR GAS PUMP ON THIS BIKE.
ANY ONE OF THESE CAN CAUSE THE PROBLEM AND SO TO BE SAFE YOU SHOULD JUST DO THEM ALL.
IT WILL SAVE YOU IN THE LONG RUN.

What causes a 1986 goldwing 1200 sei to idle fast then slow

Are you using premium gas? Lower octane, especially "oxygenated" which is a fancy name for selling you 10% less gas replacing it for cheap alcohol; burns hotter and can cause this.
It's a carb-fuel problem most likely.

84 to 89 1200s goldwings have a pulse generator

1984 models have the PGs at the back of the engine. The engine has to come out to get at them, or I think you can pull the swingarm instead.
From 1985 the PGs are under the timing belt covers. Still not the easiest to get at.

I have a 2001 gsxr 600 was riding it recently and noticed it knocked a bit when i let the clutch out in first it was present through out all gears but worst when under load in first what is my problem?

You are probably a victim of high Ethanol content in your fuel. See if you can find some fuel with out Ethanol. Then see if the problem clears up. Remember, higher octane just means you get more Ethanol and more pinging. My 1975 Goldwing was designed to run on 96 octane premium gasoline (no Ethanol), it runs fine on 89 octane with no Ethanol. If I put 89 octane fuel with Ethanol in my Goldwing it sounds like the heads are going to come off. Hope this helps.

Engine revs up and down continuously at idle.

You may need to clean the injectors with high octane gas or a fuel booster to cure this problem.

Poulan 550 mower idle problme

Check air filter, replace if needed.
Check engine oil level and condition. Add/change as needed.
Check spark plug. Clean and re-gap if needed (.030 gap)
Drain the fuel and replace with fresh premium grade gasoline. If your local station has a notice on the pump regarding Ethanol content, drive to another station!

Most owner's manuals specify 89 octane or higher and most warranties become void if E85 fuel is used.

And finally, Oxygenated fuels are not your mower's best friend. :-)

Hope this helps.

2002 4cl vue service engine soon light on

I have the exact same problem it took awhile before I figured it out. This car requires the medium octane gasoline .The 87 octane gas causes the engine to run on the lean side and triggers the "service engine soon light".By putting in a higher octane gas (middle range 92 octane) the light won't come on.Or you can get your service mechanic to set a richer gas mix for your car, however you'll lose about 2-3 mpg .
