My 1992 goldwing headlights go on when it is shut off but don't come on after i start it what could it be relay? if so where is it?

Your headlight relay is connected improperly. It could even be the wrong relay is installed. Most relays have a low power (low amperage) switch connected as the control. If the switch is energized, it causes a magnet to pull a much bigger switch inside the relay. That big switch usually has three connections. One "common" and on that is connected to common when there is no power to the control input (known as "normally closed" or NC) and one that connects to common when there is power connected to the control input (normally open or NO).

The name indicates the condition when no power is on the control connector of the relay

It it is by guess that the NC and NO connections are crossed.

I have a 2006 flhrs road king that has no power to the ignition or anything else in the front end why

Hi Anonymous, 1992 and later Touring Models, fuel pump fuses and relays will be behind the right side panel, everything else will be behind the left side panel to access fuses pull back on the front two locking tabs and slide the cover up. Good luck.

My 99 xvl600 Honda transalp is overcharging the battery. I've tried changing thr reg/rect but it still boils battery?

A battery boiling dry is an indication that accessories have been added to the motorcycle incorrectly. If you add a radio or spotlights and attach the power wire directly to the battery, you bypass the voltage regulator/rectifier. The charging system can not regulate the charging system correctly and over charges the battery. If you want to add accessories you need to add them using a power wire past the regulator/rectifier so the charging system can properly regulate itself. Hope this helps.

2000 v star classic 1100. The engine will not turn over. Replaced battery, starter solenoid, and starter relay. The starter is good. You can jumper the starter and the bike starts right up.

Hyosung GT250R indicator not working

It sounds like:
1) One of the wires that takes power to the right hand turn signals is shorted to the chassis.
2) One, or both, of the right hand turn signal bulbs is burnt out.
3) The turn signal switch has failed.

Engine lite comes on

Code P0261 indicates the front injector circuit open/low and p0263 indicates the rear injector circuit open/low. Because both injectors are sending a code, the only place where they have a common connection is at the system relay. Check for a loose plug or connections at the relay or possibly the relay its self could be starting to malfunction. To find the right relay the color of wires going to it are, Y/g, Be/g, G/o, W/bk. The relay gets 12 vdc power from the ECM on the Be/g wire which also powers the fuel pump it is grounded through the ECM.

LED Indicators

or can I disconnect OEM indicators and connect one up to see if it works ok. Basically I dont want to rewire the bike for the indicators not to work!! just installed my LEDs a couple months back. All I did was to change the flasher relay that you can buy at local auto store for less than $10 bucks. and add resistors inline that are 8ohm 25watt. You can get the resistors from radio shack. i only needed to install the resistor on the front indicators. I didn't do them all at the same time. So, the rears worked fine with just the flasher relay for me but depends on your LEDs. Be safe and just get the resistors and relay and all will work just fine. And you don't need to rewire your bike. ....The problem is that the LEDS do not pull enough power to trip the relay to flash and the resistors correct that. And do them all at once..,,,
