SOURCE: I got 1974 honda xl175

If you haven't messed with the camshaft and / or the ignition timing, and the bike was running previously, chances are that the cam timing is just fine. The usual cause for kickback is a burned intake valve. All that needs to be done is to pull the head and then re-seat the valves.

SOURCE: How do you remove the kickstart shaft from a1984

Just remove the kick lever then remove the right side cover. This will allow access to the kick start mechanism. Please rate my answer. tombones49_4.png

Kick start seized

IF YOUR KICKSTART HAS SEIZED AND IT WON'T TILT BACK IN THE PROBLEMS ON THE SHAFT (REMOVE THE DOMED ALAN CAP BOLT THEN REMOVE THE ACTUAL KICKSTART AND CLEAN UP THE SHAFT AND INSIDE DIA OF THE KICKSTART AND LUBE IT BEFORE REFITTING, MIND YOU DON'T LOSE THE SPRING AND BALL). IF ITS SEIZES WHEN YOU KICK THE KICKSTART THEN ITS THE KICKSTART GEAR OR BUSH IN THE SIDE COVER THATS THE PROBLEM. ITS EASY ENOUGH TO CHANGE IF YOU HAVE THE TOOLS FOR THE JOB. IF ITS A DIRT BIKE TRY TO PRESSURE WASH IT THEN SPRAY WITH WD-40 IT MIGHT HELP. GOOD LUCK IF YOU NEED HELP WITH STRIPPING IT DOWN JUST LET ME KNOW (ALSO LET ME KNOW IF ITS A LEFT OR RIGHT SIDE KICKSTART)

Notice the top most tooth is kind of aligned with the cover mounting bolt hole above it.

You want to be sure that the kickstarter gear does not engage the transmission shaft ratcheting gear when the kick starter lever is all the way up.

Kick starter failure honda xl 250 kickstarter does not turn the engine around as if something has twisted off inside the engine

You will need to remove the right sidecase cover to get to the starter assembly. Once inside, you should be able to see any broken parts. If no gear, shaft, cam or ratchet problems are present, a circlip could be broken or the springs may be weak and need replacing. Chances are the clutch will need to be removed to make repairs to the starter. Please rate my answer.

My 125dt dosent sart or kick sart, the gear inside have a bushing in shafting?or it was broken..

Common cause of kickstarter not engaging(I am guesing that this is your problem) is a broken spring on the kickstart mechanism,or that the kickstart idler gear cerclip has fallen off(this allows the idler gear to move forward on the shaft & thus won't allow the kickstart gear to transfer drive to the clutch hub).Remove clutch cover, put kickstart lever back on shaft spline, activate kickstart lever by hand(easier with sparkplug removed+in neautral)as kickstart lever moves down 90 degrees the gear on the kickstarter mechanism should move out to engage with gear next to it(kickstart idler gear). If the gear on the kickstarter mechanism dosn't move outward it has a broken spring on the kickstart mechanism.replace spring and all should work.(if the spring is broken you need to try find the broken piece with a magnetic pick-up tool as the broken part can cause further damage if not removed)To do this job I highly recommend you first purchase a workshop manual which will guide you through these processes. After all a manual is the most valuable tool in your tool kit.
