You have three yellow wires coming from the stator, which are the three phases of the alternator, just weld these three yellow wires to the three yellow wires that go to the bike R / R. The order does not matter because it is a three-phase system. Just be well isolated from each other.

Trace your wires coming into the batery from your stator if the wires arent grounded than i would think that you could hook them up and they would charge but i think you have a ground coming off the stator that has to be hooked up look up wiring schematics for your stator to the battery and go from there

2001 honda cbr 929 rr help wont start fuel pump works tested but doesnt kicked on when switched on main fuse blew replaced opened wire harness replaced burned wire looked didnt see any open wires

Hi, Keyth the following is a systematic procedure for diagnosing fuel pump issues designed to keep "DRACHMA" to a minimum. If you need parts check with Amazon and eBay first to keep costs down.
1. If your pump does not turn on check the pump fuse and relay and all wiring including connectors for corroded, broken, or loose pins/sockets.
1. Normal fuel pump pressure is 3-5 PSI.
2. Check any rubber or plastic tubing for age-related pinholes by removing and plugging the ends that connect to the fuel valve and then turn on the ignition switch and watch for fuel streams exiting the pinholes, if any exist, replace tubing as necessary.
3. Check for a clogged a primary fuel filter that comes off the bottom of the pump to screen out big rocks and clean as necessary.
4. Check for a clogged secondary fuel filter that's outside if applicable by removing it from the system and replace it with a short splicing tube turn on the ignition switch and recheck fuel pressure if pressure increases to normal pressure you need a new secondary filter.
5. If all the above check out OK and the pump is not functioning properly then you need a new fuel pump.

1985 Honda prelude carbed. The battery light is on an I changed the altenator an regular an battery an it's still on but when I rev the engine over three grand it goes out but I can only drive the car...

From what you have described either the replacement alternator or regulator are faulty.all 1985 model here have the reg built into the alternator.Put a voltmeter across the battery terminals while running.volts should be 14 to 14.8 if it is being charged correctly,12.8-13.9 if it is poorly charging and less if it is only running on the battery.I assume that the fanbelt is tight and not slipping. There are several other reasons that can cause this fault but establish the basics first.Make sure that the main feed wire from the alternator to the battery is fitted onto clean terminal and isnt broken internally. To test this you can carefully check volts at the alternator terminal end,be careful not to arc out on anything metal while doing may blow the charging fuse(check this anyway as part of test).the volts should be the same as reading from the battery. If it is lower, twist the wire about while reading and see if it changes. It will either need replacing if faulty or try new terminal ends first.Make sure that the replacement alt has the same plug configuration as the one you removed.Honda have a few different plugs that switch the trigger wire around(whether round or rectangular)Hope this helps you.if not get back with your test results and we can work together on this

2002 honda 1100cc shadow sabre What is the purpuse of the rectifier? Bike runs great for thirty miles on charged battery then quits. While running disc pos. lea to battery an bike quits. should it still...

On motorcycles the regulator/rectifier are usually one unit. The voltage regulator takes the juice coming from the alternator and converts it , usually from a higher voltage, to 12 volts. The rectifier takes any extra power left over from the conversion and dissipates it in the form of heat. Honda motorcycles draw power from the battery to run everything on the motorcycle. When you disconnect the battery it is like turning off the key. If your battery is not charging check the alternator first. Find the plug coming out of the engine with three yellow wires. You should have continuity between any combination of these three wires. You should have no continuity between any of these three wires and ground. If If you get no continuity between any of the yellow wires or you get continuity between a yellow wire and ground , you need a new alternator. If the alternator checks good and the battery passes a load test, then you probably need a new regulator/rectifier.

My battery is draining fast on a full charge. Will start and ride for a little then will stall and not turn on again. I have checked wires and the batterie is good. What could be draining the battery...

It sounds like your bike is not charging. The headlight is draining the power. Locate the plug coming out of the motor that has three yellow wires. This is the alternator output. Check with a voltage meter. You should have continuity between all three yellow wires and no continuity between any of the three wires and ground. If the alternator checks OK then you probably need a new regulator/rectifier.
