Question about 2000 Honda CBR 929 RR Fireblade
Try spraying some break cleaner on your locking mechanisim there should be a lever that is moved by your key that locks the wheel into place after the cleaner spray a silicone based lubricant onit turn your key several times and see if that fixes your problem

The problem is in the ignition switch, although NOT an electrical issue. You will need to remove the ignition and take out the tumbler that the keys rides in. On the back side of the tumbler, there is a white tab that is moved by an arm that slides a pin up and down which locks the steering. Dont be intimidated by this repair. I was when I did it, but was actually quite easy. Just take you time and take pics to look back on as reference.
