You need to let it warm up before beating on it. inline 4s are always cranky when cold. another issue could be dirty carbs and clogged carb jets causeing it to run extreemly lean, rev high and die out. pulling 4 carbs isnt "fun" but you could do it in an afternoon.

Motor seems to idle and run okay however it bogs down when you pull throttle quickly .it is a 1967 triumph 650 single carburetor .

Hi,,remove and clean the carb. before doing this you might want to check the air screw on the side of the carb, with the bike running turn the screw half a turn in and give the bike a rev,if it bogs more, turn the screw half a turn out and see if throttle response improves.

I have a Kawasaki Ninja, ZX6r, 1997 F3. The bike starts great and rev's great when standing. At high rev's its as sweet as a nut. The problem seems to be when riding the bike and the revs are below 4,000....

There are adjustments on carbs for low speed air intake (air mixture screw)find out factory settings and reset that mixture.Sounds to me like those adjustments are out of sink.If so the bike will run very bad from idle to about 1/4 throttle then run great from there up to full throttle.this definitly sounds like carb problem.

Hello, I recently purchased a 1973 Suzuki TS 185. The bike turns over and starts right up very easily. When the bike idles I can rev it and it seems to work very well in first and second gear. However,...

Check for air leaks. You probably need new crank seals and a new intake manifold. Check your reed valves if you have them and do not hold the throttle wide open if it is bogging you will score the cylinder by running it lean.

2002 Kawasaki ZR-7S. wont rev up.

Check you main jets ccccccthey could need a good wiring through with needle wire cleaners or try running it without any air cleaner unit .If it runs well then could be an air filter problem.

Bike bogs for second then revs when throttling

Pull the slide out of the carb then remove the jet needle and move the clip one notch lower on the needle.

Revs issues

could something be wrong? Incorrect point gap? Does this make the revs run away? Carb syncronization? Would this make that big of a difference would I have to change the jets to the bigger one? i am confused! you will have to explain better. if you mean that the engine is reving without the throttle. then forget the whole ignition system for now. it must be getting air/fuel to rev. so check for sticking throttle/linkage or for a vacum leak. when its reving on its own grab the carb linkage and try to return it back. also while its running take the airbox off and shine a light in there and see how far open the throttle plate (s) is.,,
