The timming marks will be behind the timing belt cover. There will be marks on the gears and also marks on the block. Line the top gear with the top mark and the bottom gear with the bottom mark. Please note that you will need to undo the battery for a few minutes and then reconnect. This allows the computer to reset itself. Hope this helps

I am assuming you mean timing marks...these are located on the harmonic balancer..it is just a line scribed into the balancer. and there should be a timing gauge mounted on the block above the balancer

REPLACE timing belt. Line up timing marks on cam pulley and crank gear to marks on engine. Get a good manual from autozone it gives a goo picture of where to find these marks.

Confirm that the timing mark on the crankshaft pulley aligns with the TDC mark on the front cover (arrows)

1987 ford escort Gt hatchback 1.9 ltr engine doesn't start all the time some times it just clicks maybe solanoid. I push start it and it starts being a standard. When it turns over it turns over great....
Starter is beginning to fail. It has a dead spot or two and my luck of the draw you are occasionally ending up on the dead spot.

Plan to eventually replace the starter.
