Question about 1999 kawasaki ZX-6R Ninja

Zx6r 1999 G2 starts fine when up to temp throttle not responsive idles thendoesnt it revs iself does it cold and hot eratic can be sitting in neutral and it then revs to about 5 thou then u have to blip throttle and it comes back slowly sometimes revs drop when changing gear sometimes doesnt help please

There are any number of reasons that could be happening, anything from Dirty Air filters, or a busted/blocked fuel line, to a seized piston or bad spark?
I'd try the simple stuff first, by way of elimination before taking it to a mechanic...
~ Remove the seats and fuel tank.
~ Check Fuel hoses for bad seals, blockages or cracks.
~ Replace the spark plugs and spray some brake/contact cleaner into the connections.
~ Take your Air-Filter out and clean/replace it. (Accessed from under tank generally)
~ If you have access to a Carb-tuner, or similar, attach it to the vacuum plugs on your carbies and tune them up by turning the screws between the cylinders until they all level out. (Check youtube for videos on how to use them)
~ Ensure your exhaust isn't blocked, or restricted. Place your hand at the end of the pipe when running and see if the air flow remains linear up the rev range.
~ Check your coolant level in the resovior and radiator.
~ Drain your oil from the sump plug and replace with fresh oil. Replace Oil filter at same time.
~ If there was a fuel filter on your fuel line, check it is not full of crud. If so, replace or clear it of all crud materiel. (This is a commonly over-looked issue!)
~ Check battery terminals are clean and battery has charge. If you have access to a Multi-Meter this is usually the best way to check. (Again, see youtube for videos on how-to)
~ If you're feeling daring, remove the carbies and clean them using Motul Carb-Clean or any good Brake Cleaner. (This can be a fiddly job, don't loose any screws!)
These are a few things that, in my experience, are the simplest way of self problem solving before you take the bike to a mechanic.
(It can also help save you time and money because the Mechanic will not have to do all this him/herself. If they're any good, they'll appreciate you having a crack.)
Don't be afraid to take a screw or two out and have a look too. You never know, you might just solve the problem quickly and easily yourself and save a few hundred bucks in the process.

I would try to map the fuel system as it sounds like its totally out? ive never heard of it affecting it that much? also try replacing air filters.

Your throttle body solenoid has taken a dump... change it.. or have someone change it out and it should be fine.

Well this answer is going to be a bit fuzzy.
Code 51 is for a switch signal issue. The possible causes are the throttle position switch, the neutral safety switch, and the ac compressor switch. One of those three is not sending a signal to the computer. So if its the ac switch, you know why.
But all three would need to be checked out.

My zx6r g2 (1999) starts up fine and idles fine but as soon as I open the throttle the bike cuts out? Does anyone have any advise please?

please check the control circuit board and its connections.
check the pulse sensor also.

I have a 1999 zx6r. I layed it over in the driveway. i immed raised it up and let it sit for an hour. the bike will idle and rev up in neutral. on take off the bike will only go about 20 or 6-7000 rpms and...


take carbs apart to clean probably disturbed sediments in float bolws
and now are pluging up jets motors not developing horsepower when its in nutral
easier to rev up

Zx6r erratic throttle


Just check on your air ducts. When the bike is staionery it will idle rev and even run well on the dyno, but on the open road the airducts must be in and instadled or mounted correctly

Take the bike to about 9000 rpm and it starts to back fire zx6r g2


at those revs the valves are probably starting to float, something to look into,i may be wrong

Poor throttle response below 4,000 revs.


The carbs need to be re-tuned for the exhaust. It doesn't seem like like it needs to be rejetted just idle mixtures adjusted. this would be something that a mechanic should do because there are four carbs and they need to be syncronized with each other

1999 saturn sl1, engine revs to2500-3000 rpm when shifting gears,


I would clean the throlle body first. Then lube the throttle linkage.
