Could be throttle bodys need synching,first adjust your TPS
(throttle position sensor)as per factory instructions.It will show you how to in a haynes manual.If the problem still persists,it will need throttle bodys synching.Its just like carb balancing on older bikes.they do run out as milage increases,its no major problem.

Stuck idle air control motor. Clean it and the throttle body. You might want to replace the air and fuel filters also. No year make and model.

Audi 2002 a4 v6 2.4l when the car first starts the RPMs surge up and down unsteadily this stops if you give a few revs on the accelerator pedal. When driving around 50kph the rpms surge slightly it feels...

You have two problems. The surging is from a dirty throttle body and /or air filter. The selector light could be from a bad selector switch or internal transmission problems. Have the car scanned for codes.

Nissan pulsar 1999, surging. Power and revs wave up and down quickly. What could this be?

  1. Fuel delivery problems (bad fuel pressure regulator, bad injectors, clogged fuel filter, etc.);
  2. Defective idle bypass (Idle Air Controller);
  3. Bad Throttle Position Sensor (TPS);
  4. Defective Engine Control Computer;
  5. Demonic purple gremlins from space (don't make them angry).

My engine misses and loses fuel pressure, and engine surges when switching between brights and dims. Can this happen because of a bad battery?

Check altenator to see if charging.
Check fuel pump, replace if needed.Check Throttle positioning sensor, replace if needed.

My tuscon revs it's RPMs while I'm driving and the drops back down. It's happening pretty often. But check engine light doesn't come on

Clean the throttle interior and throttle plate edge. It is likely that oil deposits are lining the throttle opening and this causing the plate to stick so that when you press of the accelerator the throttle plate stays closed and then pops fully open leading to the is surge and slow effect.

Engine revs erratically, rythmi.cally when in neutral

A car's engine can surge for many reasons. Generally the ignition, wires, spark plugs, or the distributor rotor and cap will cause this problem. Another possibility is that your fuel filter is clogged. Injectors could also possibly be clogged on a high mileage vehicle. This is where a tune up can help your car. A vacuum leak can also cause surging problems. First inspect all hoses and fittings then around the carb or throttle body. Run the engine and spray carb cleaner on areas that could be leaking, the engine will die or speed up when you spray if there is a leak. A vacuum leak may or may not make your check engine light come on. Surging could come from a sensor problem or a leak causing the sensor to not operate correctly. It is always good to check your computer codes first if the light is on. This will help you to identify the problem area. You can buy gas additive such as carb/fuel inectore cleaners to see if that helps.

Very uneven running

Here are a few things to check check idle speed control , TPS- throttle position sensor and also very important check for vacuum leak on intake any broken hoses or intake itself gasket leaking Very possible for this problem. A simple test is when engine is running up and down use an intake cleaner (in compressed can) and spray around intake manifold if there is a vacuum leak the engine will surge up . This could man intake gasket or vacuum leak. Good luck and thanks for using FIX YA.
