Turn signals have a relay (its a small switch that charges and discharges current) which controls your turn signals blinking speed and interval. This is most likely your problem. You should be able to get a new one at your local parts store. Follow these instructions, in this order, and let me know how it works.

Step 1:Turn on the hazard lights and walk around the Taurus checking that all four turn signal lights are working. If any of them are not working, replace the bulbs. A non-working bulb in any of the turn signals will often make the turn signals appear that a flasher is going bad.

Step 2:
Locate the fuse box and check the fuses for the turn signals. There may be more than one. Replace any fuses that are blown and then recheck the turn signals again. If they still aren't working properly, then move on to replace the flasher. Step 3: Look for a round, silver-colored object near the fuse box. Put your finger on the object and turn on the turn signal. You should be able to feel a mechanical clicking as the turn signal blinks. This is the flasher. Step 4: Pull the silver flasher out of the socket and replace it with the new one. Each of the flashers should have two pins sticking out of the bottom side. Start the Taurus and recheck the turn signals to ensure that they work. Joel

Hello There ,
I will Try my best to Walk you through this , Ok We Need to Know If ALL that's Not Working In the rear is Turn Signals? You need a Helper to look 1.First for Tail Lights 2. Next BRAKE Lights apply Brakes and have Helper see.
This Points to A BAD GROUND in A CAR This is Usually In the Trunk Fallow Wires FROM TAIL LIGHT Assembly and Look for Anything Out of Ordinary with Wires such as Corrosion Anywhere Clean and REPLACE Section of wire if Nessesary. On GM Vehicles there Is A GROUND WIRE SCREWED or BOLTED to Trunk FLOOR or SIDE RAILS We Must RULE OUT BAD GROUND. After this Comes the Parts CO$T.This May Very well Stop Here and FixYa. If Not we make sure FRONTS are Working. Bad Ground in the Trunk happens a lot Especialy When we Carry A Lot Of Things in the trunk. LOOK UNDER TRUNK LINER and BEHIND CARDBOARD SIDE Covers. Is there a Trailer Hitch & plug if so liminate the Trailer Plug Wires as the Problem. We would Rather WASTE a Little time At a Chance of SAVING MONEY Than WAIST MONEY Now AFTER a FULL Inspection. the Problem May be Found and Repaired at this Point, if so Good if Not Problem is Most Likley The Turn Signal Switch itself or Multifunction Switch
SIR CAUTION You Must Disconnect Battery Terminals + & - While Replacing this Switch

SOURCE: Turn signal blinks too fast

Try changing the flasher, it's in the fuse box, round in shape, and either blue or silver in color. The 4 way flasher is the same shape, to be sure you get the right one, put the left signal on and put your finger on it, if you feel it clicking, you have the right one.

SOURCE: Chevy Cavalier 2001 turn signal blinks fast

If new bulbs don't work, it is probably the harness that holds the bulb. I had to replace both on my car after fighting with the problem for over a year and not knowing.

SOURCE: Left turn signal blinks fast in rear and regular in front

Very simple the bulb is out. When the blinker does that its telling you the bulb needs to be replaced

Kia turn signal works but blinks fast on right side when parking lights are on

turn on park lights and signal on right side and take a good look at the front and rear light , see if one is dimmer than the other this may be due to a bad ground and when the park lights are on and drawing more power it also needs better ground, check the sockets front and rear try wiggling the bulb to see which one is causing the problem

On my 95 chevy surburban the park/signal light is blinking fast

Have you checked all the bulbs (rear as well as front)?

The fast dash turn signal indicator is telling you one of the lamps is faulty. Check all of them and you will most likely find your problem.

Replaced the bulb in my 2007 Kia Sedona but the turn signal still doesn't work and it still blinks very fast.

Double check the bulbs on front and back on the side that is blinking fast. This still sounds like a case of a faulty bulb... Good Luck

Signal light blinking too fast

I just had that problem with my jeep cherokee and either your bulb has burned out or it is burning out. Time to replace it. Turn the signal light lever on the side that's flashing fast, get out of the vehicle and look at the front and back signal lights and replace the one that isn't blinking...hope this helps.

Turn signal light staying on in front driver side and back turn signal light blinking too fast on driver side in back. All bulbs good.

Double check your front drivers side bulb sounds to me like the bulb is bad. It may look ok but could be bad. You might try swapping bulbs between the right and left front lights to test it. If the problem moves to the other side then you've found your problem. Good luck.

The bulb sockets are melted (not the bulb) - go to the junk yard and pick up a couple and keep a couple in your glove box - Have the same problem.

Fast Blinker

Usually a fast turn signal means that there is a light out. You should probably check all of your lights, including back-up lights, and turn signals. If there is one out then replacing the burnt out bulb should fix the problem.
