Question about 1999 kawasaki ZR-7
I have a kawasaki zr7 which has been stood 6 months, only done 5000mls .when i tried to start it recently it started with choke but seemed to sound strange ,when i knocked choke off it was idling close to stall so i put bit off choke back on and let warm but no change.assumed plugs **** so cleaned and regapped 25 thou.started bike same as before full choke willrev to 3ooo knock choke off and bike dies,no choke idles around 500revs,try to rev bike and it dies, any help please (manual mentions air valve but i dont no where to look for this)
I'd start with removing the carbs and giving them a thorough cleaning as when bikes sit for so long, the carbs begin to get gummy/varnished from the old gas.
check for blocked holes in the pilot jet & main jet and look for "hard & dried up" gas in passages. be careful of the float bowl gasket as to not tear it or you will need a replacement.
