Shocks FXST how do you adjust the shocks on a 1999 FXST?

Loosen the lock nuts ...u'll need a spanner wrench ( harley part # 94455-89) .

Mark the adjuster plate for reference....turning that plate out increases preload to carry a heavier weight.... turning in decreases the laod.... keep the adjustment the same for both shock.... tighten the locknuts and u are done.......

Hi Anonymous, front fork assembly is non adjustable, you can however, use a lighter or heavier fork oil to stiffen or soften you font end. Good luck

Adjusting rear shocks to lower my 1999 road king

Sorry I do not go back that far so if the shocks are not air shocks you can likely adjust them by turning the spring to a higher or lower setting and if air shock you need a special shock air pump to raise ort lower the air pressure. Use of a regular pump will not be accurate and an air supply more than 50 psi will likely destroy the shocks in any case.

it's not a shock it's called a strut and there are two bolts that attatch it to the spindle , it can be adjusted but will require an alingment .

before getting into the tranny, your clutch most likely needs to be adjusted, check cable, then linkages, then clutch plate adjustment. this is a new bike so its unlikely the tranny.

Adjustable rear shocks

There are 2 holes at the base of the shock absorbers. Turn them clockwise for a softer drive. At factory they are setted at 3. THey go from 1 to 6.
