Question about 2008 Yamaha YZF-R6

2001 yamaha r1 seat problem

I have a 01 r1. i can't figure out how to remove the seats. I tried unlocking it and then pulling up the seats but it didn't work i just bought the bike so i didn't want to pull to hard. Is there a trick to it? Thanks Danielle

The lock is for the rear seat. Grab the back corners of the front seat peel/pull back the edges far enough to expose the screwheads, one on each side. Take your allen wrench remove both screws and your front seat will be ready to be reomved. I hope this info helps you.

How to open the seat?


if u look at the rear of main seat on left side near passenger foot peg u will c a slot for your key to go in, turn it to the right and it will unlock passenger seat and then pull up on the seat. if u r talking about your main seat there r two bolts one on each corner of the seat in the back lift corner up to see them u will need metric allen wrench

When I pull off I have a flat spot on my bike and then again at about 170 km an hour.

1. Throttle cables misaligned or misrouted.
2. Damaged or restricted fuel tank venting system.
3. Intake system air leak.
4. Vacuum piston malfunction.
5. Pinholes or torn diaphragm.
6. Accelerator pump leaking or no output.
7. Plugged bowl vent or overflow.
8. Fuel level in bowl too low.
9. Restricted fuel supply passages.
10. Plugged jets or passages.
11. Worn or damaged needle or needle jet.
12. The enrichner valve not seated or leaking.

2001 twin carb R1 i had smoke coming from under the seat


Sounds like the rectifier has gone bad, overcharging the battery and cooking wires. Your best bet here is to take it to a dealer rather than risking putting in new parts then frying them the first time you ride the bike again.
