That is most likely your weep hole and it means your water pump seal is leaking. You should rebuild the pump at a time that is convenient to you rather than have the pump quit on you while you are riding some day. I have had a tiny leak for years, but sometimes they go fast.

Where is the hole on the gearbox where you can see how much gear oil you have in it on my gs suzuki l 1982 1100

Your GS is wet sump therefore it does not have gearbox oil. You put oil into the filler hole (normally about 3 to 4 liters) this flows to the bottom of the engine (sump) and is then pumped all around the engine including the gearbox. If oil is leaking from this hole I would suggest something is missing i.e.sensor, plug etc or someone has drilled it out. You need to find someone with your model GS annd see if they have the same problem and/or a Workshop manual to work this out.

Why would water be coming out of a small hole on the side of the motor

You dont say what type of vehicle, so assuming its a car type engine it is possible you have a leaking welsh plug. If you put you finger where the leak is you should find an indentation, which if correct, is the welsh plug. Dont try and repair yourself, have a technician do it as they are not easy.

I am doing oil changes on 2007 Dyna Low Rider and do not have book. Need to know location of the engine and transmission drain plug and quantities of oil.

One litre in the primary of Formula+, one liter Formula+ in gearbox, approx. 2.4 litres engine oil HD360 in sump. Look underneath and find sump. Engine oil drain plug is on left side of sump near bottom and back and is in horizontal. Gearbox drain plug is to the right side of sump about half way and points up. Torque is 14 lbs-ft with DRY CLEAN threads. Use new O rings on bung plugs, part #:11105. Warning: very easy to strip these threads.

Oil Drain Plug location

The sump drain plug will be at the lowest possible point on the sump. The one in front of the water pump is probably the water drain plug.

Find water on spark plug compartment bmw f650gs 2cilender, after mechanic clean and replace spark water back after few days.... Regards Marco

There is a small drain hole that allows any water to drain out of the spark plug well. This drain hole often becomes clogged with mud or other debris. Blow the hole out with compressed air or use a small pick to open up hole and let water drain out.

Good Luck!

I have a 2003 VL 800 Suzuki. I have oil leaking from behind the water pump housing. And yes it is coming out of the small hole behind the water pump. Could this be the oil seal on the water pump? Steve

yes steve- this is the water pump by-pass hole. There is a secondary backup al behind it to stop the water entring the gearbox. Replace the waterpump seal. Most suzukis' use a mechanical seal. they are prity easy to change- although usually requires removal of the clutch cover. I always replace the mechanical seal, back up seal & the bearing all at once.If it is a standard seal type- be sure to ckeck the shaft of the impellor for groves worn in it where the seal contacts the shaft - in mechanical type seals this does not apply.
Hope this helps regards

My 06 yamaha 450 gtyr has coolant coming out of the bypass hose under the water pump. I need help

If you mean the small hole under the pump, this is the telltale hole to show the seal is leaking. There is one seal to keep the oil in the engine and one seal to keep water in, and the hole is in a space between the two, you may need to replace the shaft as well if is grooved or corroded.
