Question about 2003 Honda GL 1800 Gold Wing

Speaker not working

I have a 2002 1800, after a while of not riding there's no suddenly no Audio out of the speakers.

The only exception is a slight crackle sound when I first turn on the ignition key. While the key is on, if I turn the radio off and then on again no crackle.

The tuner seems to work fine, since the Stereo light comes on for stations that are strong, and flickers on the ones that are normally weak / out of range.I have checked all fuses and their all good and I cleaned the post on the fuses to make sure they make good connection but no luck yet.

The crackle sound is the elctric current from your ignition switch flowing into your speaker wires, if the ignition(key) already is on you dont hear it you say, so it must be that the ignitionwire at some point makes connection with your speakercable.

With that code it can be a bad speaker, bad wiring to the speaker, or a radio failure.
If you have no audio at all, it's a radio failure.

Speaker need to be replaced

Good morning all, I just got a 1990 GW GL 1500, the most beautiful ride I have ever been on at this point in my life. I am looking at replacing my stock front speakers and installing some rear speakers. If I could enlist some opinions on what are good quality speakers, front and rear and will it be difficult to install. I would appreciate some suggestions on speaker brands and some instructions on the installation part. May you all continue to ride safe. Thank you

Rear Speakers and audio controls no longer work.

Remove your "new" heated gear harness, test functionality of audio. When installing the heated gear run new power and ground wires. Unless installing HD items and directed to use existing circuit. Good troubleshooting practice, if it nolonger works undo what you did then move forward after it works again. Hope this helps.

I have a 2003 sportster and a spy LM508 alarm kit. We can't figure out were to mount the motion senser, siren, and the speaker Everything else is mounted under the seat and it says to mount them somewere...

Cover sensor in plastic, and mount speaker facing bacwards as not to ingest rain while riding....if you don't ride in the rain (i don't) and you won't be directing waterflow on the components w/washing ur ride then don't worry about the mounting so much....Good Luck to you friend....Tim
