SOURCE: Heater fan only works on high speed 4.

sounds like the switch is bad. Test the power coming in to the connector and use jumpers to get the fan to operate at all 4 speeds. if it works then it the switch.

SOURCE: 2002 CHRYSLER T&C FRONT BLOWER NOT WORKING ON ANY SETTING

I had the same thing happen today except rear control works period (no conditions). I am going to test the leads to the front blower first while on. If voltage is there, then I will check the motor brushes - could be a cheap easy fix (~$6 + time). Alternatively you could replace the motor ($50+ plus time). If no voltage there then it is probably electronics.

It could be a resistor(s) but I believe it is unlikely that *all* the resistors would go at the same time.

SOURCE: blower motor does not operate, front defrosters not blowin

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the glove box from the instrument panel
  3. Disconnect the two wire harness connectors from the front blower motor resistor.
  4. Remove the two screws that secure the front blower motor resistor to the front HVAC housing and remove the resistor. 815198ec.gif

Richard Will and Derrick Shultz - spammers - probably from India I have a 2011 Nissan Pathfinder and the rear blower will not turn off or down with the rear or front controls? Any suggestions?

You will need to access both the speed resistor and climate controls for the rear blower motor. Finding the source will not be terrible. Since your symptoms are "Won't turn off and can not change fan speed". There is a short in the high speed ground wire. Unplug the resistor. Did the blower shut off? If not the resistor is ok. Unplug the auxiliary controller then the main controller if there was no change. If unplugging the controllers does not affect the blower then the issue is a shorted ground wire. The blower gets 12 volts from the fuse box and then through a relay. The ground is established through the speed resistor and the climate controls. Any questions please write back.

Have a 2009 Nissan Quest I can't turn the heat off. Just stays on a high level of blowing out heat .

If you have a fan that has different speed settings (1234, or low med high etc) and the only one that works is high - then the blower resistor pack has failed. If you have a climate control unit (where you just pick a temp you want) then the fan is controlled by the heating system and it sets fan speed. If you have climate control style try lowering the temp to a lower setting (current temp in vehicle) and see if fan slows down. If not then climate control unit or fan resistor bad. If dial type and you get nothing on lower settings (only high works like mentioned above) you need to change blower resistor. It is located under dash near the fan itself. Look for small unit bolted in duct near fan with wire plug going to it.

Why has my heating and my a/c stopped blowing any air

The main reason is a defective blower resistor. Normally the lower speeds on the fan switch go out first and leaves just the high speed working. Either your resistor is bad, the blower motor itself is dead, or you have a blown fuse - check the fuse box.

My 2005 gmc yukon rear a/c or heat blower will not come on front a/c and heat work well

{: ) If the front a/c and heater is working fine, that's good. At least the problem can be isolated on the rear HVAC circuits only.
Check first the RR HVAC fuse 30amp at the underhood fuseblock and the IGN 3 fuse 10amp at the IP fuseblock. If you found them good, then you can begin diagnosing the blower circuits wirings and connectors.
A faulty blower definitely will not give any output. If it doesn't spin for some reason, rear a/c or heating cannot be circulated.
A faulty blower resistor or speed control processor can also cause a zero air output. Sometimes, the blower may only work at certain speeds only.
A faulty rear HVAC control switch may not give the proper signals to the blower resistor or speed controller, and in turn will render the blower motor disabled.
Sometimes it can be a terminal connector being loose or burnt. However, the most usual cause for this type of problem is a faulty blower resistor.

I have a 2002 Nissan Maxima, and the blower motor will only work on high. I have replaced the switch(resistor), and the motor. When you turn the blower motor switch on, the lights lite up, but motor will...

you replaced the switch or the resistor. They are two different parts. The resistor should be located near the blower motor. Since high speed bypasses the resistor I would say the resistor is the problem.

Also you didn't mention if you had auto heat, auto heat with navigation, or manual heat. It can make a difference in how to approach your problem. The info I provided above would be for manual heat since it is more common.

For more info on blower motor diagnoses you can click here. Your would be a ground side controlled system since the switch supplies the path to ground.

The blowers for the air condition and heat in the front of the van do not blow air

Hello and thank you for using FixYa!

If your ac controls still operate the rear blower, but not the front, then you most likely need a Ac amp. It's like a blower motor resistor. I would have it checked to verify.

Thanks Jay!
