Sounds like not a problem at all. If this happens when just the ignition is on and before the bike has been started.- This is normal operation. The fuel is just signaling reserve as it does not yet have a reading and any oil light on any bike would stay on or flash before the bike has started/been running.

I'm changing the oil on my bike...how much oil needs to be put back in after i drained the old oil?

when all old oil is drained put some new oil to make sure all the old is flushed out think it comes in 2l bottles that have a window to show how much is left 3/4s is plenty and also window to show how much oil is in the bike will have an indicator or should have to show how much oil is in but if not just make sure the window isint totally covered as this is to much when the bike is standing straight is easiest to see

My 1984 magna vf 700 ,the indicator light( fuel, oil, temperature gauge) allnot working

I own a 1984 Honda Magna VF 700. The speedometer broke and the part is discontinued. Is there another part that I can replace it with? Looking for something in stock to use and not concerned about original parts - just something that will work.

Cant fit oil cap back on properly

Those are tricky but all it takes is to push the cap down and screww it in, then firmly grasp the cap and turn it till it lines up flush to where its supposed to sit.

Maybe it wasn't flushed and there was still some old oil in it.
Do these things have a level indication?
If the level is right, start the bike and run it for a minute or so, watch the oil light. Then stop it, leave it a few mions to let the oil settle in the sump and check it again.
What I mean by flushing out, have a look at how it's done on a different type of bike -

Clutch not engageing

Start by changing the gearbox oil and the filter. Ride for 50 miles or so then change the oil again but w/o a new filter this time. Doing this will flush the dirt and grit from the gearbox. Use 10 w40 Pennzoil, Mobil, Shell or any other major brand.

The clutch is not fully dis-engaging. That is what is causing the shifting problems. Hopefully a shift fork has not been bent in your efforts to shift gears. The cost of 6 or 7 quarts of oil and an oil filter is nothing next to the cost for replacing bent shift forks.

Please rate this solution. Thanks Coty!

Fuel light indicator

Remove the cover that has the oil light, high beam, etc and check the fuses and clean the contacts then spray with wd40, then let the tank empty or syphon it and the light should come on.
