Almost always a grounding issue where the electrical circuit cannot be completed due to corrosion. Start at the battery.

30 amp fuse keeps blowing on my Honda deauville 650

Hi, Kev before diagnosing your blown fuse issue check the bottom of your seat if it's metal and comes in close proximity to the positive battery post to need to take the necessary steps to ensure there is no contact (electrical tape, thick rubber insulation, hammer a dent in the seat bottom) also you are going to need a wiring from your service manual a test light, an ohmmeter and plenty of extra fuses. If you turn on your ignition switch and immediately blow a fuse you have a hard/dead short and is usually easy to find. With a test light connected to the hot side of the blown fuse holder start stabbing the wire/s that leads away from the fuse holder and towards the ignition switch, you test light will illuminate validating the short. When the test light fails to illuminate you have passed the short and need to back up until the test light illuminates, then look in the immediate area for the short.
If you driving down the road for 30 minutes or 15 miles and blow a fuse you have soft/flying short and may take some time and patience to find.
If the main fuse/circuit breaker constantly blows/trips while riding you probably have a faulty battery terminal connection. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary. Any other fuses that constantly keep blowing while riding are usually caused by a loose or corroded ground wire in the circuit, which means you have to check, inspect, test each and everyone with and ohm meter set on a low ohm scale 100 ohms or less . Simply touch one lead to the ground source and the other lead to the battery negative terminal, a reading of zero indicates a clean solid ground. Any number reading or infinity indicates a poor ground and needs to be repaired. Poor or weak grounds require excessive additional amperage to complete the circuit which in turn blows the small amperage fuse. '79 old school with head/tail/brake lights, horn, starter.....that's it electrically. Finished "ride" and taillight worked but not brake light....fuse burned, replaced. Bulb is ok. Now,when...

electrical problems can be a bear and fustrating, one way that I have found an electrical problem is have a few extra fuses on hand and disconnect all wire connections, put new fuse in and start to reconnect each one, until you blow fuse, that way you have isolated the problem, good luck,if you get fustrated you may have to walk away from it for a while to calm down, and regroup been there done that.

Poppin main fuses on an 05 gtr 650 and cant figure why

have u recently added any new electrical device, if you have basiclly your drawing to much power and causing the fuse to blow, the basic solution is just to by a bigger fuse.

if you havent added any new electrical device you have a short somewhere in your system and you will have to look around and fix it,

best of luck and safe riding

My 650 dragstar starts fine but cuts out as soon as I engage gear. Have checked the side stand switch and it is working fine. Any ideas?

The side stand switch can work in cojunction with a clutch switch.
It still sounds like a side stand problem, check the wires and plug, use a multi meter to check the switch. If you didnt check it that way.
The switch may work but the stand is not pushing the contact far enough

Does the neutral light work correctly?

Assuming it is not clutch drag with the bike jumping and stalling when put in gear

Is it neccessary to restrict 650 dragstar to 25kw

Orig power is 40 HP (29.2Kw) If that is required, it can be done by restricting top speed, exhaust pipe and/or chokeing the carb abilities but will take the fun out of riding big bikes..

02 Yamaha xvs 650 dragstar classic that misfires when it warms up

First I would change all the spark plugs, and if that didn't make a difference then it sounds like the coil(s) are warming up and breaking down........when it starts to skip take a good pair of pliers with good rubber on them and pull each spark plug wire, when you get to the one that the running doesn't change then I would replace that particular coil

Xvs 650 dragstar timing chain adjustment. how do you do it?

That engine uses automatic cam chain adjusters. There is no manual over-ride or adjustment. If the cam chain is loose, you need to replace the adjuster at the least and possibly the cam chain and guides.
