I've got a 03 yz450f as well and I noticed coolant comes out of the over flow hose when I'm hard on the gas,if I'm just riding around it's fine, any ideas on what would cause it to do this

The level should only be about a quater of the way up on the over flow tank (if you have one on it) i dont have one on mine i just always check in the top of the radiator and make sure it is full all the way to the top. it also could be because there is not enough coolant mixture to water. try flushing it out and put a mixture of 75% coolant and 25% water. too much water means more pressure and thats why it could be leaking out. other then that you will get coolant coming out alot if you dont have a overflow tank.

Why is it issuing a little white smoke?

Check the cooling system. Some times white smoke can happen when coolant gets into the engine. Watch the coolant level to see if it is going down. Also pull the spark plug and have a look at it as well. I hope this helps. Rod

How do I check the coolant level in my Intruder/Volusia 2003

There is an overflow bottle on the left side down low. There is a **** in the chrome side cover that you can shine a flashlight in and see the level in the bottle. However, if you suspect that your bike is running too hot, you will have to take off the gas tank to actually check the radiator filler level.

What is the Leak??

Leaking shock absorber? leak from brake fluid reservoir? Coolant from cap top/bottom/or core of radiator? Perished/otherwise unsound radiator hose/hoseclip? Expansion tank overflow? (check the level is not above the FULL mark on the expansion tank) Brake fluid from top/bottom of front brake hose? Brake fluid from bleed nipple? Brake fluid leaking from brakes caliper piston or centre seal?

Dripping coolant and pipe glowing red

The header pipe will glow red when you run it on choke, during warm up. This is normal while sitting. You shouldn't see that one you start riding it though.
The coolant drip could be just a dirty or failing radiator cap. My bike will push a little out if I completely top it off full. Hope this helps.
