Question about 2008 kawasaki Ninja 250R

Laid over and now won't start

Turning into driveway I laid it over going less than 5 mph. Now it tries to turn over, but won't start.

    Yes I'm fine. Thank you for asking. The only damage was handle bar dented the tank and the left turn signal was broken. Starter kicks but does not fire.

    does this bike have a tip-over sensor that needs to be reset?

    Hi and welcome to FixYa,

    With the indulgence of bunnydawg, glad to hear that you're ok. A couple of additional ideas to consider/check:

    • spark at the plugs when cranking;

    • presence/absence of fuel at the carb drain (if US version);

    • fuel overflow (if US version);

    • presence/absence of IGN+12 & pulsating voltage at the injectors (if Euro version) when cranking.

Do you notice if the fuel pump kicks in when you turn the key to on?

Sounds like you just flooded it real good, try cranking for a little while until it finally starts then just be easy on the gas til she clears out

If it has been laid up for over a month , I would drain the carburettors...
I this doesn't help, drain the gas & fill up with new gas !

does this pipe go to the oil cooler ? or does it just transpher oil to another point on engine ? take a picture of it and then show your dealer !

Honda vtx 1300 backfires when letting off throttle,never did it before until it was laid down on loose gravel

replace the air filter, and when the covers off tap the bottom of the carbs with a hammer and piece of wood or plastic.

What is the Leak??

Leaking shock absorber? leak from brake fluid reservoir? Coolant from cap top/bottom/or core of radiator? Perished/otherwise unsound radiator hose/hoseclip? Expansion tank overflow? (check the level is not above the FULL mark on the expansion tank) Brake fluid from top/bottom of front brake hose? Brake fluid from bleed nipple? Brake fluid leaking from brakes caliper piston or centre seal?

My 2002 cbr600f4i will turn over but will not start, it ran fine yesterday i went out this morning and it will not start, any suggestions

i know this might sound a bit daft...but the kill switch on the handlebars is not off?
& has it got petrol in it?
does it try to start?..does it cough & slputer?if it does it may want new these seem to go off with repaet running while laid up for winter...if this is not the case...check the plugs for spark & make sure petrol is getting to the plugs!!...hopes this helps....Howard

Help with draining battery, Bike was laid down.

Have you replaced the battery? Some of the cells might of been dameged when it was laid down therefore it will not hold a charge.

Fuel problem

You have carburetor issues my friend, take those things apart and clean them. Probably time to rebuild them if they have never been apart yet.
