The breather pipe is at the back? What exactly is it that is smoking? It is normal for the breather pipe to smoke, it is releasing crank case pressure. Is the bike otherwise running ok? if yes then dont worry

Smoke from a side pipe

Leaking exhaust pipes and deflated radiator can be the result of this. Better start with the radiator first and check if its deflated. Also make sure the pipes are tightly mounted and double check any leak.

Smoke from oil cap and breather pipe vw golf chico 1.3

I would recommend an oil change first and second I suggest that you get in the habit of checking and topping up the oil as it is critical that you keep the oil level correct. Less oil hotter oil hence smoke and possible engine failure

Engine will start but smokes real bad and only runs for about ten seconds and sputters out . There is also oil coming out of the exhaust pipe back into the engine compartment.

If this engine is fitted to a small appliance such as a ped mower, it has probably been tipped up, or overfilled, the engine breather feeds into the air filter box where there is normally a paper filter, when the machine is tipped up the engine oil travels up the breather hose and soaks the paper air filter element. Remover the air filter cover, and air filter, now run the engine until it finally stops smoking, check the oil level in the engine.

Oil leak front seal

For the seal to leak it must be either worn out..come out.. or the engine compression is so great that is the first place it comes from as the breather pipe could be bunged up and this will alow the gaskets to leak also ,so check out the breather first and compression {or lack of}
Let me know how you get on Ron

My 2002 bmw 330d is smoking alot and when the engine is running and i take out the oil dip stick, the oil comes shooting out like a brust pipe... Could it be that some of the breather pipes are blocked? if...

Hi , this sound like the engine breater is blocked. You will have to remove the air filter to gain access to this item, it is secured to the rocker cover by 4 x 5mm hex bolt screws. if you need any more assistance or help to remove this part just drop me a line . hope this is of help, regards mark

Cause and solution

sounds like one of the oil breather pipes is bloked wich will cause oil to feed to the cylinder wich will cause smoke and uneavan running wich will cause the car to **** when standing. take off all breathing pipes main ones come from the rocker covers clean them and put them back. the main engine breather will come out of the engine block do the same.
