does the carb pipe go on bottom or top of fuel tap

Bike doesn't want to ref when I open the fuel tap on the petrol tank. I tried everything but no luck up to date and it does exactly the same with another spark plug and another carb.

Are the cabies flooding or runing out of fuel? pull the choke on dose it help if it does low fuel.

Drain the bowls and see if there is plenty of fuel.....If its flooding turn the fuel off or block it when the engine starts to drop clys if it starts to pick up after 10secs or so the carbies are flooding

Sounds like something has clogged one of the pilot jets in the carburators. You can figure out which one by feeling which pipe is cold after running for a short time. Probably best to clean all 3 carbs while you have them off.

Triumph America 2004. Shortly after purchasing second hand, the bike started to only fire on the left hand cylinder on starting. However after driving between 1km and 10kms the 2nd cylinder would fire up...

You might try looking at your transistor it could be the cause of your problems. Even though it is a carb bike it will still have an transistor pack or similar that controls your spark. It is possible that failed. Try one from a bike that you know is working if that makes a difference that is your problem.
Although I'd also look for broken wires and poor contacts.
If your good with a multimeter and you know the specs of your coils and transistor than you can try and test them.

I have a Yamaha dt125 R 2004 I've just had the engine rebuilt, re-bore with new crank and piston etc. I've just had my bike out for a run about after about a month without being started. It started on...

Your description sounds like a fuel related issue. Try connecting an external fuel source and test again. there is a screen in the fuel tank that gets plugged, and so does the filter... If external source does not help, look into the carb(s).

Carry an extra spark plug, and when failure happens, pull the plug wire and hook it to the extra plug, and ground the plug against the engine.....does it spark? If it has a good spark, the ignition is not likely your issue. If spark is very poor, ignition heat issues may need to be addressed.

Were the jets the same size? Just because the numbers were the same does not assure you that someone has not used a jet drill to enlarge them. Pull the low speed jets and compare them with the old ones, using a wire gauge or set of number drills.

Carburators

you have got sticky floats or float velves that are sticking shut/open,,, turn on the fuel and tap the top of the carbs one at a time this may jolt the floats back and shut the needle velves if this dont work the only way to fix it is to strip the cards and clean the cards up if you park the bike up for any time again drain all the float boles first by undoing the small screw under the carb float boles or run the carbs dry by turning off the fule tap and keep the motor running till it stops by its self

have you tried to clean the injectors or to see if injectors was bad you will need some help doing this step go get some carb cleaner from any auto parts store a big can then start your motorcycle get some one to kep it running for you then squirt the carb cleaner in where the air filters are on both sides and then start feathering the gas to keep it running. this will take awhile but keep doing it till the bike starts running right. sounds like you have carbon build up somewhere. hope this helps good luck

Bike backfires,dies,restarts runs fine

your carbs are dirty. and probably need to be balanced also... bring the bike bto a garage and have them cleaned by a profesional.... also after market pipes don't give your bike the proper back pressure .. that can mess up your carbs timing
