Yes this can be welded using either a L H electrodes or TIG welding, a couple of things to bare in mind: remove the item from the bike making sure that you mark the position on boyh parts; grind a deep grove all around both parts leaving a landing for a close fit: if cromed, then remove using a flap disc Not a grinder, put the two parts together maching up with the maks previously mad and clamp, allowing room for expansion. leave a small re-enforcement on the last run.then re-crome..Good luck

This hinge has snapped in two Can it possible be welded back together again?

It depends on what material it is made from. The easy answer is yes most materials can be successfully welded but some materials are more problematic than others and need specialist equipment and skills.
If the material is mild steel you will have no trouble getting the welding done once the hinge has been removed from the door and the oven. I think that could be the major problem of the exercise.

A hinge wouldn't break for no reason. I think it would be wise to discover the reason before carrying out a repair. I suggest checking the price and availability of a new replacement hinge from the manufacturer before going ahead. The broken hinge might be a design flaw (whoever heard of a broken oven door hinge?) and a replacement might be a modified part that would resist breaking.

It is possible a new part could be cheaper than having it welded but you won't know until you check.

How do you lift a 1982 yamaha 920 virago to the center stand

Left hand on handlebar grip, right hand on handle under the seat, right foot on the centerstand lever, bike vertical on flat ground with the handlebars/front tire straight. Push down on the foot lever of the stand while lifting from the handle. Most of the work done is by pushing the lever and the lift handle is mostly for stabilizing and helping to raise the bike. This applies to all bikes and once you get the feel for it you'll find that any size bike is pretty easy to put on the stand. I can center stand my CBR1100XX while on the bike, first time was hard, but once I got it down it's fairly easy.

Put jack stands uder a 2001 Lincoln LS

place the trolley jack under the front cross member . (The big bit that connects the side frames under the sump). Lift as high as possible and place the jack stands under the chassis ( moulded rails ) where the sub-frame meets . Then place the trolley jack under the rear diff and lift as high as possible Place the jack stands under the chassis at the front of the springs or track rods By using these positions you will have the cabin securely jacked up with all the wheels free to remove or to work on. Before going under try rocking the vehicle hard to ensure that it will not move off the stands.

This is what you will need, any part store will have them. They are not welded, there is a clip that holds the ball that is attached to the back glass inside of the socket part of the lift support. They may be able to install them for you at the parts store.

Stand has broken can you weld it whilst still on scooter

you would be better of taking it off to weld it because you will need to protect it from heat and sparks
otherwise you will need to disconnect orremove the battery because once earthed all power will run through and possibly burn out your coil and could blow up your battery
and im not sure on the wiring on vespas
hope it helps

ON a 1980 Honda CB 650 the center stand retracts way too far up under the bike and hits the exhaust and the chain. I hjust bought the bike. I have the manual and it shows nothing for it. My guess is that...

The center stand on the bike is probably not the original stand. Just go to a commercial welding shop and have them weld a chunk of metal to the stand. The new metal should bump the frame at a chosen point, thus solving the problem.

Shift pedal snapped off when bike fell off kick stand. the shaft has a clean break.

If you are saying the shift shaft going into the case has broken just outside the casing, you would be best to replace it as opposed to having it welded. If you refer to the pedal mount shaft then you could possibly weld it then grind and file for a better appearance. A new shaft would cost about $41.00. My concern is whether or not a shift fork has been bent when the bike fell. If a fork is bent the shifting will be stiff, sometimes to the point the pedal is rock hard and just plain will not shift at all. Or it may shift up but not down or vice-versa. A bent shift fork is a VERY expensive repair and not one I would recommend to the home mechanic. The entire engine has to be torn down. Please rate my answer. Thanks. tombones49_162.gif

R1100s 2000 65000miles After a 30min or more run upon stopping a clicking noise comes from the rear of the bike as the suspension moves. This has gone the next morning when the bike is cold.

Possibilities include:

-worn shock bushings
-worn/faulty bearings at final drive pivot point

If you have a center stand for your bike, you can do some diagnostic work yourself with the bike on the ctr. stand.

Try moving the wheel while holding it at 12 and 6 and 9 and 3 O'clock positions. Listen/feel for clicking. This would indicate a loose or defective final drive pivot bearings.

Lift the wheel from the 12 o'clock position and see if the click noise comes from the shock bushings.

Very hard to diagnose without a center stand or service stand.

Good Luck
