I have a 96 XL883 that needed tires. I've usually done all my own work with my trusty Clymer manual without a problem and, I'm just short of anal when it comes to placing items in reverse order of they way they go back together. This time, while removing the front cast wheel axle, the spacers dropped. And murphy's law dictated they drop and roll before I could see the positioning. Anyone have a clue? There's 3 and I know 2 came from the rotor side. They're 5/16, 9/16 and 7/8. The Clymer book is not real clear on this one. Thanks for any help out there.
install wheel without spacers. axle has hole in it to align right side leg. center wheel and check spacing order. right side of wheel ussually has one spacer as axle is a part of its spacing.
