Ducati 620s - Won't Start - Dead

Hi,

I have a 03 620s, over the winter I disconnected the battery as the alarm kept going off in the garage. I have charged and re-connected the battery but the bike is dead! All that happens is that the indicators stay on constantly..

I've checked all the connections but I get nothing, not even the needle sweep on the dials. Lights, horn etc all work.

Any ideas please?

The battery has died over the winter. Indicators staying on is a sure fire signal of low battery charge.

The battery may have enough amperage to get the headlight and the horn working, but the indicator relays take a bit more.

New battery I'm afraid.

Alarm wont de-activate

The memory in the alarm on the bike has had no power for so long it has forgotten all its settings. You need to get it re-programmed.

Engine wont turn over at start

Hi, Do you have an alarm & Immobiliser fitted on your bike as these drain the battery on your bike very quickly? If so i would recommend removing your battery and fully charging it with a decent amp-age charger. If you have your garage attached to your house then i would definitely recommend purchasing a trickle charger and when not using your bike keep this plugged into the mains and you should not have this problem again. all motorbike shops sell these chargers If after this the battery goes flat again i would suggest purchasing a new battery. This is a common fault as most motorbikes sit in the garage through the winter months and if not kept on charge will deteriorate. Hope this helps.
