My 1200gs adv bacfire and seems like misfire when i gear down. what is wrong

Hi, Ij and the usual suspects are:
1. A severely drained battery.
2. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
3. Faulty main circuit breaker and or connections.
4. Faulty ignition coil and or connections.
5. Faulty spark plug, oil or gas fouled, wrong heat range or service type, wrong gap, loose in the cylinder head, broken electrode or insulator.
6. Faulty spark plug cables, leaking or broken, internal damage.
7. Faulty ignition module, switch, CKP, MAP, CMP, sensor and or any connector in the ignition circuit could have corroded, loose, or broken pins/sockets
8. Burnt exhaust valve or air leak in the exhaust system.

When to replace timing chain on bmw 1200gs

Never.

Replacing the timing chains involve splitting the crankcase, and would only be done when the entire motor gets a rebuild.

What's your problem?low mileage

Hi, Naresh for this situation I would call my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix, answers, or parts inquiry. If necessary transport your vehicle to the dealer or shop and have a professional technician take it for a test drive, if it is in running condition, and give you a written estimate of repairs and answer any specific questions you may have about your issue. I own a p200!!! i hav really problem wid the engine noise..it really sucks no matter hw hard i made dat thing,,i changed all the possible things i can bt still its unsatisfactory,it hav runed 40000km n its...

I think it was not of a sudden, but evolved eventually due to the hard run with insufficient Engine Oil over the period of time. without sufficient Engine oil the internals get damaged, due to hard friction and over the time gets more worse.

After starting my 2009 BMW R1200GS the fuel guage showed over half a tank, it was warming up and then the low fuel warning light came on. The fuel guage is completely blank, no bars at all. Any thoughts on...

The fuel gauge sensor on my 2008 1200GS Adventure was defective and needed replacement. On my first ride after buying it new from the dealer it showed full (all bars), but ran out of gas on my first ride. No further problems, and it is now 40,000 miles.
Hope this helps.

My bike 2007 R 1200Gs suddenly died on highway. I have new battery on the bike ang gas tank was full. Any idea ? Thank you

The most likely cause is the fuel pump controller. It is positioned under the cover just left of your instrument cluster, on top of the fuel tank. These units are not repairable and it will need to be replaced. this is what it looks like.
